Some Donah. Just wait for it.
Also, probably my favorite chapter so far. A little long, but I like it.
The boys marvelled as they walked into the empty farmhouse. Light filtered though dusty skylights and grimy metal walls created the perfect air of mystery and intrigue. The ambience in the warm summer air created a hauntingly peaceful picture. The concrete floor was cracked and uneven, but it was a small sacrifice for the otherwise perfect location for their new music video.
The crew set up an antique tufted couch for the boys to sit on, then hung a chandelier from a frame and added a lamp. This was only one location of many where they were going to set up the furniture in the exact same arrangement.
When the crew was done setting up, the boys would take turns singing their parts for the video in three positions; sitting alone on the couch, walking around alone and interacting with the furniture, and a couple times as a group.
They were only supposed to spend three hours filming this part of the shoot. After this, they were going to move on to a field, and then go into an old house. Tomorrow, they had other shots planned inside a city.
Daniel was the first to shoot his scenes. He sat on the couch first, lip-syncing his parts easily. This was one of his favorite songs so far, and he was glad that it was going to get a music video. Unlike most of their songs, it was slower and more melodic, and offered more opportunities for him to show of his vocal prowess.
Suddenly, something tickled his ankle and he recoiled, looking down. Instead of seeing a mouse or a fly, like he had expected, there was nothing there. He frowned for a moment, grabbing his ankle and looking closer. There wasn't anything remarkable-- a small red mark, but that could be from anything anyways.
"All good?" the director asked patiently. Eli Sokhn was a creative, clever man with a vision, and knew what to do to ensure it wasn't compromised. Clearly, Daniel had veered from the script.
"Yeah. Sorry, I thought I felt something." Daniel said, frowning. "Can we redo that shot? Sorry."
"Of course. From the top. Daniel Seavey, Scene 1 Take 2."
The assistant director closed the clapboard and filming resumed. The rest of the shot went off without a hitch. Jonah went next, then Corbyn, Zach, and Jack.
Daniel noticed his ankle was starting to feel a little tingly. It was getting a little redder and there was a tiny bump on his skin. He thought for a while, then passed it off as a mosquito bite. It made sense-- they were in the middle of a bunch of farmland and forest, this was more of the wild territory than the human one.
They shot the group together, then started driving to the next location-- a field beside a forest.
Daniel was starting to feel a little tired, so he nodded off in the car. He awoke to Corbyn and Zach trying to tickle him awake. "Stop!" he laughed, trying to swat their hands away.
They walked out into the field, setting up the couch and all the furniture.
Daniel was starting to feel... off. It wasn't like he was particularly hurt, but he wasn't feeling too great, either. It's just exhaustion. he convinced himself. Their call time had been 6 AM, so it made sense that he wasn't fully awake.
His leg started to feel a little tingly, and he shook it out. Sitting in the car had probably just made his leg fall asleep. The added movement didn't help, and he decided to just wait it out.
This time, he was the second to shoot his scene. He sat with the boys on folding chairs under a tent they had set up, and they alternated between talking, scrolling through social media, and creating social media posts. Zach was *doing his homework* on his laptop.
