"KERRY WHERE'S MY CURLING IRON, I NEED IT NOW!" Lexi's is louder than ever when she loses something, I'm always the prime suspect. I wake up from my deep, relaxing sleep with a sore neck.

"Ah.." I wince. I hear nothing for a while until a loud clatter of falling things. Lexi curses under her breath as she runs upstairs, trying to keep her cool.

My door slams against the wall and a rush of cold water hits my face, I gasp in suprise. I sit up immediately and grab my pepper spray from my desk, my dad gave it to me when he went on a trip for work, when I was 14. Frantically I look at my surroundings, to spray whatever wants to hurt me. Then my eyes fall on Lexi.

"Where the hell is my curling iron Kerry!? You better tell me right now!" She says, staring into my eyes.

I try to recover my memory, "Um, I think it's under my bed." She bends down and searches under my bed and finds her precious curling iron. Happily, she prances out of my room into hers.

I grab a hair tie and pull my hair up in a bun, to keep it out of my face. I quickly check for any events on my calender and remember I have a dental appointment tomorrow. I head to the bathroom for a shower to refresh.

After I have a shower and get dressed I run downstairs for breakfast. Quickly, I grab a yoghurt pot and walk out the door, remembering that dreadful afternoon with Rick. I try really hard to forget and carry on walking to the bus stop.

Suddenly I hear a noisy, annoying car horn beeping. I turn around to see which idiot decided to press the horn.

"Hey beautiful! Where did you go yesterday ? I searched all the land in this kingdom," says a loud, smooth voice. Could it be..? Rick!! I turn around hopeful for it to be him but.. it's not. All hope sinks from my heart and I walk on.

"Sweetheart what's wrong, let me fix it," the voice chirps again. The car nears the pavement and towards me. Sweetheart..there's only one person who calls me that (other than Dad.) Zach..

I turn and find Zachary sitting in his car with a cute puppy face. "Zach! Uh, hey," I awkwardly greet him.

"C'mon get in the car, let me drive the fair lady to her destination," he says trying to charm me. I don't laugh, not even smile, I just stand there.

"Actually, I'm fine, I'll just walk," I say and carry on walking.

"Kerry? Seriously, what's up. Please join me," his voice stops being ridiculously sweet and turns serious.

"Whatever," I get in the car and sit there motionless. "Can I eat my yoghurt?"

"Sure.." he agrees hesitantly. I rip the top off the yoghurt slowly and begin eating.

Most of the ride was silent until he tried to ask me what's wrong. I hold the empty yoghurt, not answering his question. "Nothing, just thing's," I finally say, confusing him.

"Alright, I give up. Let's just get to school," he says, sounding fed up.

"Good." We arrive at school and speed out of the car to get to my homeroom. As I walk down the scool hallways I encounter Clarissa giving me the evils. I look back at her trying to figure the reason for her evils. Tired of thinking, I get to my locker and get my science books. Crap! I forgot my research at home, I left in such a hurry. I'm doomed.

As I pack my bag with my books, I hear sudden heel taps approaching me. I flicker my eyes towards the noise and I see a large, blue bag. Clarissa.

I pretend I didn't notice her and lock my locker, I try to walk away until she says something.

"Isn't it funny how love can make you a liar? You should know, Kerry," she speaks out loud. Her click is behind her giving me the stupid evils once again, I am forced to turn around I see what this loser wants.
