*Piper's POV*
So let me tell you how Leo and I ended up in detention. It was a week after they had the Goblet of Fire pick the champions. We were just sitting at lunch. We had all written our siblings not to use that cursed quill and to just use a normal pen instead.
So it was lunch time and some mail came in. One of the birds was holding a Howler. It was a dove. I was praying that there was no music in it. But the thing exploded in mid-air. Out from it came my brother Mitchell.
"Lacey she's going to get in trouble. No!" Then my sister Valentina.
"Give me the quill!"
"Who's going to know It's for Piper?" Came Lacey's voice.
"Fine. Do what you must," Mitchell said. Lacy began yell-singing
"Somebody once told me
the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed."
Now everyone was up on their feet once again screaming. I had to join them.
"SHE WAS LOOKING KINDA DUMB
WITH HER FINGER AND HER THUMB
IN THE SHAPE OF AN 'L' ON HER FOREHEAD!"
"SIT DOWN!" McGonnagall yelled. "Piper McLean, you can have a detention. I thought I told your group there to write home and tell them not to send Howlers." I buried my head in my arms.
Among the next clump of owls were new horrors.
*Leo's POV*
I saw another owl with a Howler. I almost pitied the person who was going to get it before it landed in front of me. Uggh the horrors! Oh well. It was fun anyway.
"I set fire to the rain!" came Harley's voice.
"And I watched it pour as I touched your face!" I yelled.
"Well it burned while I cried
cause I heard it screaming out your name!" the whole school joined in.
"Leo Valdez you can join miss McLean in detention," McGonnagall said.
So now here I am later today in Chiron's office. He took mine and Piper's detentions, gave us eye patches, and made us go up a rock wall with only one eye and nothing to keep us up. Then back down onto a cushion and up again with the eyepatch on the other eye.
Why didn't I tell Cal to destroy that quill? Oh right. I did. Nyssa and Harley got it.
