Chapter 12

*Hermione's POV*

We got to Care of Magical Creatures and Ron, Harry, and I picked up where we left off. They didn't question me about where I was at breakfast or why I'd been hanging out with Annabeth so much. I think thy were glad I was talking to them again, though I had never not been talking to them. In fact, I had tried 5 times today. They just didn't see me.

Anyway, we got there and there was immediately trouble. First, we still had class with Slytherin. Then came the actual creature. 

"Today we're goin' to be lookin' at a creature i found in the forest: A hellhound," Hagrid said.  caught Annabeth's eye. We both knew something bad was going to happen. "Don' worry, she's real nice... I think." 

"Hagrid aren't hellhounds dangerous?" I asked.

"Well, yeah, but she won' hurt a fly," Hagrid said. At that moment, the hellhound jumped. We all screamed as she landed on Percy and began...
licking him?

Oh. This must be Mrs. O'Leary (I asked Percy who Mrs. O'Leary was after he mentioned her on the train.)

"Get off me!" Percy yelled. She didn't listen.

"Professor do something!" Annabeth yelled while everyone screamed and ran. By now, all of the exchange students were trying to pry Mrs. O'Leary off of Percy, except Nico DiAngelo. He was now running towards the forest. Apparently, everyone else thought this was a good idea too.

"No! Stop! The forest dangerous!" I yelled. They kept going. Hagrid ran after them, leaving most of the exchange students, me, and for whatever reason, Draco. We finally managed to get Mrs. O'Leary up, Percy told her,

"Go back to camp, alright?" She sort of nodded and then disappeared. A minute later, everyone came out of the forest slowly, lead by Hagrid.

"What are you kids doin' here? Tha' thing is dangerous," he said. "Now, I don' know where it when so we're goin' back to the forest. Use the buddy system and light your wand if there's trouble. And watch out for centaurs!" Ron grabbed my hand and dragged me into the forest behind a large group of people. We only got a few feet in when he tripped on a tree stump. Classic. I had to help him up now, and I wasn't doing a great job acting scared. Behind me, the exchange students were walking hand in hand like there was nothing to worry about, which I guess technically there's wasn't but nobody else knew that. So I yelled to them,
"What are you doing?! There's a hellhound out there and it's dangerous. Run!" They all scattered. I don't know where they went but I do know Ron and I went to the middle of the forest before we ran into Harry and Neville(Apparently he's followed Harry and there was no turning back at that point.) Behind us was Clarisse and Leo.

"Stop walking so close to me!" Clarisse complained.

"It's not like I want to be your buddy," Leo said. He pulled out a metal helicopter and (don't ask me how) made it fly. It hit Clarisse in the nose.

"AARGH! The only reason you're not dead yet punk is because it would kill Calypso and she's actually a decent person!" she roared. I had to get involved. Nobody would be that loud in the face of danger.

"Clarisse! Um, excuse me, but could you kill him later? There's that thing out there still and you're going to attract its attention," I said. By now, the boys were rolled up like hedgehogs. I rolled my eyes. Boys. "Look at yourselves! You've faced Voldemort and yet you're afraid of a dog?"

It's not a dog Hermione!" Ron said."That thing is a vicious killer."

"Besides, we knew how to kill Voldemort sooner or later. And we didn't have enough time to be scared like we do now!" Harry added.

"All I said is it could come, not that it is coming," I assured them. Behind me, the leaves rustled. "Or maybe it is coming," I said. We all pulled out our wands and prepared for a fight.

*Draco's POV*
As soon as that hellhound pounced, I froze. I should have known that thing was dangerous, just from Hagrid's history. Then the kid in black ran into the forest and I was even more confused.
