Akaashi and Bokuto are going to watch a movie. Bokuto had suggested it. And the location? His house. Akaashi is nervous. When he had went there the last time, it was so sudden. He did not bring anything for Bokuto's parents at all.
"Bokuto-san, will your parents be home?" Bokuto shakes his head.
"Hngh! They went on a vacation without me!" He starts sulking.
"I'm sure they have a good reason. Plus you have school. You can't just skip that for a vacation."
"Akaahshi! That's when you are supposed to comfort me. Not stand on my parents' side!"
The bell signalling the end of lunch break rings. Bokuto dramatically sighs, shouting, "See you after school!" as he runs off to his own class.
After school, the two of them head to a dvd shop to choose a movie to rent. Bokuto chooses Spirited Away. It is a classic he had always liked since he was a child. He was certain Akaashi would appreciate it too.
They get to Bokuto's house. Akaashi calls out a "Sorry to interrupt" although knowing fairly well Bokuto's parents are not around. Akaashi just wants to be polite.
"Akaaahshi! Let's watch the movie!" Bokuto pushes Akaashi down on the couch and turns around to fiddle with the TV. As the music plays, Bokuto gives a satisfied smirk and disappears into the kitchen. He reemerges with a bag of chips and settles down beside Akaashi, conveniently putting his hand over the younger male's shoulder.
The first scene unrolls. Akaashi watches as Chihiro in the movie tries to express her unwillingness to move away, only to be waved off by her parents. Akaashi finds himself empathising with the main character. If he was made to leave Fukurodani, Akaashi is sure he would not want to. Somehow, 15 minutes into the movie, Akaashi finds himself tearing up.
Bokuto had watched this movie growing up. Countless and countless of times. Some part of the movie just kept him hooked, maybe it was how much he could learn and relate to this movie. Just like Chihiro, he had lost his parents. Chihiro then meets good friends like Lin, No Face and Haku. Similar to how Bokuto met his current parents, Kuroo, and not too long ago, Akaashi.
Chihiro saved Haku and returned to the bath house. The witch owner there had agreed to set her free if she correctly chose which were her parents. Chihiro had answered that it was none of them.
Chihiro gets to leave the bathhouse on a condition that she does not look back until the bathhouse is out of sight. Bokuto understands that the creator means to show that she has moved on.
Moved on. Has Bokuto moved on?
