Ito secretly calls Bokuto out during break. She cheerfully passes him his present, "Happy birthday senpai!" Bokuto receives the present and flashes her a bright smile, "Thank you Akira-chan! You are the first person to give me a present today. Akaashi didn't even give me a present..." Bokuto starts pouting when he recalls Akaashi's indifferent attitude in the morning. Ito laughs at Bokuto's dramatic expression.
Then, she turns to look at her watch. "Ahhh. It has been 20min since lunch started. You had better go back. Akaashi-kun must worried about you suddenly disappearing."
"Ah! Then I'll go first. Bye bye Akira-chan!" Ito waves back and watches with a smile as Bokuto disappears back into the school building.
"Akaaaahshi! I'm sorry I'm late! Akira-chan had to pass me something!" Bokuto skids to a stop at Akaashi's classroom and shouts. "Ah. Bokuto-senpai. Akaashi has already left. I think he went to find you." Seeing Bokuto, Classmate A replies.
"Eh? Ok. Thanks." Bokuto sprints off to find Akaashi. Maybe Akaashi went to find him at his own classroom. He headed there first. His classmates told him that Akaashi had indeed visited their class a few minutes ago. Bokuto then goes to check the toilet and cafeteria.
After a few flight of stairs, Bokuto finally reaches the rooftop. He pushes open the door, heavily panting due to all the running. He walks onto the rooftop. "Bokuto-san." He turns around and finds Akaashi leaning against a wall. "Ah! There you are Akaaaashi!"
"Where did you go Bokuto-san?"
"Akira-chan called me out to pass me a present. I forgot to mention it this morning. I'm sorry!"
"It's ok Bokuto-san. I got you bread." Akaashi points to the plastic bag on the floor. Bokuto seats himself across Akaashi.
"Akaashi... Do you remember what day today is?" Bokuto stares at Akaashi hopefully.
"It's Tuesday." Akaashi says, emotionless as ever.
"No! I-I mean it is Tuesday. But it's also another special day! Do you not remember?"
"It's your homework deadline." Akaashi answers, seemingly clueless about Bokuto's special day. But Akaashi knows what day it is, he clearly knows. He just doesn't know how to pass his gift to his boyfriend.
Bokuto now looks crestfallen. Akaashi feels a twinge of guilt for making the birthday boy so sad, "Bokuto-san...I'm just kidding. I know it's your birthday." Akaashi pauses for a little while before continuing, "Happy birthday Bokuto-san! Your present... I'll pass it to you after school."
Just that sentence alone made Bokuto so happy and restless for the rest of class time.
"Bokuto-san, here. Your gift." Akaashi passes Bokuto a neatly wrapped present. "Thank you Akaaaashi! I'll treasure it!"
From then on, Bokuto always sported a pair of thigh high knee pads during training.
