(Newt P.O.V)

Newt awoke to find himself in a bed and a room that was not his own. It was definitely not his case, for the bed was neat instead of messy and the room was large and furnished. Newt glanced to one side of the room and saw his case on the floor, closed and latched. My creatures. Newt thought as he began to get up to check on them. But as soon as he moved, he felt a sharp pain in his lower left side and he immediately fell back onto the bed. Newt groaned. Only then did he remember what happened.

He was in his case taking care of a new Zouwu he had found while traveling in China. The poor creature had been abused then locked up in chains, left for dead. Completely abandoned. Newt had managed to get the creature in his case to care for it but it had bad trust issues, and he didn't blame the Zouwu since humans were the ones that did awful things to it. He was trying to take the chains off of the creature with magic since he couldn't get very close to it without being swatted at, but the Zouwu had completely freaked out when it saw Newt's wand. Most likely the Zouwu's abusers used magic to hurt the beast, and it must have thought that Newt was there hurt it. When the Zouwu freaked out it had smashed a table and had hit some of the habitat wall, causing splintered wood to fly everywhere. Between Newt trying to keep the Zouwu from escaping the habitat and protecting himself, he had tried harder at making sure the Zouwu stayed put in the habitat and didn't cause more damage to other creatures habitat's. He did block some flying pieces that shot at him, but he missed one and he soon felt a sharp object impale his body. He had yelled out in pain and had collapsed to the ground unable to stand. Not a few minutes later had he seen Tina's face above his, her talking to him, telling him that everything would be fine. To his relief, the aggressive Zouwu had stayed in the habitat and gone into the cave that Newt conjured and placed in the habitat, that way Tina wasn't in danger. But Newt really got scared when Tina asked about healing things he had in his shed. He was so delusional from the blood he had lost that he had to think really hard about what he had in the shed. It felt like it took forever for him to think of anything, and all he could think of was orange burn paste, wound-cleaning potion, and a bunch of herbs that were poisonous to humans but were good for creature sicknesses.

When Tina had told him that she was going to remove the splintered wood, he tried to prepare himself for the pain he would encounter but totally failed, in his perspective. He had blacked out five seconds after he felt a terrible yank at the wood, the pain was unbearable with the feeling of the wood tugging at his insides like a hand was removing his organs then replacing them with pain. But then he found himself here, up in Queenie's and Tina's apartment guest bedroom.

Newt lifted his head-instead of trying to sit up this time- to try to look around. His case was on his left, and he looked to the opposite side of the room and saw Tina curled up in a chair in the corner, sleeping. Tina... he thought. She had saved his life, helped him when a horrible accident occurred. And she did it with such ease... not once did she hesitate to do something, and Newt was grateful for that. He felt he could trust her, trust her with many things. Newt attempted to sit up and slid himself upward to sit against the headboard of the bed. I need to feed my creatures... he thought as he slowly moved his legs to the side of the bed. He was sure it was early in the morning for there was a dim light coming through the windows. He knew if he didn't get all of them fed, they would soon be cranky, and Newt had already learned his lesson for being late.

Newt attempted to stand but it caused the pain in his side to be overwhelming and he fell and landed on the floor with a loud thud.

"Ow," Newt said. Ten seconds later he heard footsteps and saw Tina above him, her hands on her hips and a confused expression on her face.

"Newt, what are you doing?" She seemed annoyed, and Newt flashed a lopsided grin.

"I er- need to feed my creatures...?" He stated it more as a question from being nervous under her glare.
