(Newt P.O.V)
(Btw this chapter is during the same time Tina, Queenie, and Jacob are on their boat on their way to England.)
Newt slowly opened his eyes, and everything was blurry. He blinked a couple of times to get his vision in focus, and he found that he must still be on the boat, for he was in a room that looked identical to the one that he was staying in for the week. He was sitting in a chair, his hands tied behind his back. He had a searing headache, he assumed it had come from being knocked out.
"Pickett?" He asked, and to his relief, the small green creature poked his head out of Newt's pocket. "Thank Merlin you're all right. What about the niffler? Is he alright?" He asked again, but before Pickett could answer, Newt heard footsteps approaching the door. "Pick, get down and stay hidden. No matter what."
The door burst open, and in came a big man with a mustache and Newt recognized it to be the same person he had seen before he was knocked out. Then in came the wizard Newt was hunting for. Grindelwald. Newt scowled. The person he was chasing after -who he thought would be so hard to find- instead found him, he came to Newt when he wanted. Newt could only assume he wanted something else from him, but what he had no idea. He had nothing else to give.
"Well, well, isn't it the famous Mr. Scamander..." Grindelwald said, staring at him with an icy stare. Newt said nothing, instead, he stared at a point on the wall behind Grindelwald, holding a straight face and refusing to meet his gaze. Grindelwald smirked.
"Looks like you've become lost for words. What's the matter Scamander? Are you... afraid?" He mocked, and Newt looked up directly at him, saying, "Why don't you just get to the point? It's obvious you want something from me." Grindelwald stepped closer to him and bent over, putting his face directly in front of Newt's, so close he could smell his breath.
"Yes, I do want something." He stood again and started to walk behind Newt. "I need... information." He paused. "I need you to tell me how to combine the obscurial parasite with Credence..." So that's what he needs it for! Wait, does that mean he already has Credence? Newt pondered about it, but he didn't dare remove the glare that he presented on his face.
"Now tell me Scamander, tell me how to combine them. Don't tell me that you don't know, because you do know." Grindelwald was only partly right, Newt had somewhat of an idea of how to do something like that, but even though he did, he had no idea what the spell actually was.
Newt saw the mustache man inch closer to him, and soon Newt asked, "Why should I help you?"
"Because I have your creatures." Newt's face paled.
"You wouldn't." He whispered.
"You know I will. Besides, I know where your friends and family are. One little word-" Grindelwald snapped. "-and it's the end of the line for them. You made a bad choice last time Scamander, I suggest you don't do it again." Newt's heart raced, and he thought he may just be lucky enough to get away with lying.
"I don't know if you can combine them. I don't know of any spell that exists to do that." He heard Grindelwald let out a tiny chuckle before he felt the fist of the mustache man hitting his cheek. The man punched him, and Newt could feel the throbbing pain increasing from the impact. He could taste blood in his mouth, and he felt a trail of it trickling down his chin.
"Wrong answer. Tell me." Grindelwald enforced, coming back to face Newt. Newt stayed silent for a second before speaking, "Fine. I'll tell you. But promise me you won't touch a single creature, that you bring no harm to my friends or family." Grindelwald flashed a small toothless smile, and replied,
"I can't exactly promise those things. But... I might let you go if you tell me what I want to know." Newt hesitated for a moment, then began to tell what he knew.
"There is a spell. You can use it to combine two individuals. I-I don't know what it is, but it's a very old and complicated spell. If you use it, I'm not even sure it will work. It will be dangerous." Newt looked up at Grindelwald, who was now by the door, and he finished with, "That's all I know."
"Well, what's fun without a little risk? One more thing Scamander, where can I find this spell?"
"Look in old spellbooks or something like that. Millions of wizards have searched for it before but never found it. Nobody is sure it even exists." Newt hated himself for revealing all this information to Grindelwald, of all people, but he had to. He had to protect his creatures and everyone else. He couldn't just sit there and watch them all die without doing something about it.
"Thank you, Scamander, for your cooperation. I appreciate it. Business was much smoother than last time." Grindelwald opened the door and stepped outside, pausing to look back into the room.
"Oh, and Myers, kill him." Then the door slammed shut, leaving Newt with the mustache man whose name must be Myers. Myers pointed his wand at Newt, coming closer in range until he jabbed his wand right into Newt's chest.
"Avada Kedavra."
