(Tina P.O.V)
"Good luck then, sis." Tina heard her sister say as she exited their bedroom and entered the hall.
How could I be so stupid... I was so careless and got carried away at the Blind Pig. And I can't believe I kissed Newt! Of all people! Tina couldn't help but wonder if she did love Newt, and just didn't want to admit to herself... Tina pushed that thought aside as she entered Newt's guest bedroom. She took a deep breath and thought of what to say...
Heya Newt... no, no... um... Hey Newt, what are you doing? No, stupid. It would be obvious what he's doing... Tina didn't understand why it was so difficult to come up with something to say to him. Ugh. Guess I'll see what comes up when I get there...
Tina climbed down the ladder into Newt's shed once again. She wasn't surprised to not find Newt there. She passed by the desk and shelves scattered with things... herbs, potions, many drawings of creatures. She exited the shed and decided to go to the bowtruckle tree again first. She got there, and all she saw was the tree with many moving, small, green, sticks crawling all over it. No Newt.
Hmm... I wonder where he could be... Tina tried to think where he may be in his giant magical case. Wait. Tina remembered that Newt had wanted to show Tina a new creature that he got since he had left New York, but never got the chance because of that awkward moment and dinner was ready at the time.
Tina started wandering around seeing if she could find Newt with a creature she couldn't recognize. Or at least, just find him, for there was, unfortunately, a lot of beasts she didn't recognize that were new in the case. So she continued to wander around the case until she found him.
She was just passing by the Erumpent's habitat when she heard a loud crash followed by a shout- or a yelp of pain? Newt. Tina thought as her heart started to pump faster as she ran toward the sound. She reached a habitat that was new to her and realized that the place looked like a disastrous tornado came through- or should she say, a very large beast. She searched for any sign of a beast but saw none. There was a very large cave at the end of the habitat, so it was probably in there. She saw splintered wood everywhere, and eventually, her eyes landed on Newt, who was lying on the floor groaning.
"Newt?!" She half questioned, half yelled. She ran over to him and saw that he was clutching his left side. Tina knelt by him and told him "Newt, it's going to be okay. Show me." Tina felt shaky as Newt started to remove his hands from his side. Tina gasped at what she saw. Newt had been impaled by a splintered chunk of wood that must have shot outward and hit him.
Tina could see the blood start to seep through his shirt around the wood chunk. Tina knew she had to remove it, and Queenie would be way better at it than herself for she was way better at healing. She was about to yell for her but then thought that the likes of Queenie hearing her were way too low and she couldn't leave Newt here to get her. She started off with some healing spells she could think of off the top of her head, but she needed something more effective. Newt was starting to fade, and Tina couldn't let him go unconscious."Newt! Wake up, you can't go to sleep!" She yelled as she gently tapped his face. Don't leave me, you can't die, don't leave me- Tina tried to hold back tears at the thought of Newt dying.
"Newt I need you to tell me, what kind of healing potions do you have in your shed?" She said as she held his face to look at her. His eyes fluttered open and she saw Newt's mouth start to move. He managed to croak out,
"I have- burn h-healing paste..." He paused for a moment trying to catch his breath, then continued, "...wound-healing po-" That's all Tina needed to hear and she summoned Accio wound-cleaning potion! in her head. Not a few moments later a purple liquid in a bottle came flying towards Tina. She grabbed it in mid-air and she knew she needed to remove the splintered wood in order for it to work properly. "Newt? This is going to hurt, a lot, but I need to remove this wood chunk." Tina prepared herself as she got a good grip on the wood, and yanked it outward.Newt's scream in agony was worse than anything Tina had heard in her entire life. And that was saying something, considering she was apart of the Auror team. Newt passed out from the pain, which was probably better for him anyway, and Tina started to pour the purple liquid onto the wound. It wasn't very deep, which was good, but deep enough to cause serious bleeding. Soon after Tina had poured the potion on his wound, it eventually stopped bleeding.
Newt was going to be okay.
The adrenaline Tina once felt to save Newt's life was gone. That's when she felt the tears start to pour out like she was a rain cloud. She cried and she cried, she couldn't seem to make it stop. She thought of what would happen if Newt did die if she wasn't down here at the right time to save his life, and it just caused her to cry harder. She was just thankful that she did save Newt's life, and that she had Auror training with potions and dealing with stressful life-threatening things. If she had help from Queenie, however, it would have gone quicker and more efficiently saving Newt's life with her talent in healing.
She knew that she needed to get Newt back up to her apartment where he would be much safer than being down in the case where so many creatures could do more damage.
She got up from where she was sitting and went over to Newt who was still unconscious. She grabbed his arm and apparated him into his guest bedroom on the floor. She quickly got up, and summoned bandages as she began to levitate Newt into the air. The bandages zoomed into the room through the open doorway, and she was going to begin when she realized she had to take off his shirt. She felt embarrassed having to do that, for he was unconscious and she did not feel like it was proper. She held her breath as she began to undress his upper half, first his burnt-orange-vest then his white undershirt.
She gasped at what she saw, Newt was covered with scars. Huge ones and little ones, probably from all of his dangerous work with his creatures. Some looked old and almost completely healed, some more recent and much more noticeable. Looks like you'll have an add on... Tina thought. Tina felt worried about all the scars that Newt had on him, she wanted to protect him from all the dangers he faced working with creatures. Dangerous claws, teeth, poisons, horns... there were probably more than Tina was unaware of.
She set to work and began to wrap the bandages around him. When she was done, she cleaned his white shirt and burnt-orange vest of his blood with a quick wave of her wand. She put his white shirt back on him and set him into his guest bed where she could keep an eye on him. She walked to the bathroom to clean herself up, and she looked awful. An absolute mess. Her hands were bloody, her face was red and her eyes were puffy from crying. Her hair was crazy, it stuck out in weird angles everywhere. She washed her hands, so there was no stain on them, and she washed her face and combed her hair. She didn't look so bad in the end. The only thing that was hard to rid of was her red puffy eyes, considering how hard she had cried. She walked to the kitchen, where she found a note on the table from Queenie.
Teenie,
I've gone to visit Jacob just for a bit. I hope your conversation with Newt went well, tell me all about it when I get home!
-QueenieTina glanced at the clock. 9:17. She had been down in the case for almost 3 and a half hours! How long she had let herself cry for, she didn't know. But she felt better now like she had drained all her doubts and worries down the drain. Tina sighed. What was she going to do now? She mostly needed to wait for Queenie to come home, and have her probably check on Newt and see if there was something else that needed to be done to treat him. So she decided to wait for Queenie where Newt was, so she could know if he was okay, and mostly so she was there when he was awake.
She went to the guest bedroom and settled down in an armchair that was in the corner of the room. She glanced at Newt, who was sleeping soundly. He looked peaceful like there was no bad in the world, like an innocent child. She sat there for a while, watching his chest rise and fall when she soon herself drifted off to sleep.
