"Clementine." Derek calls. Clementine doesn't respond. She sits on a log, staring off into the distance next to a fire. "Clementine, look at me." Still ignores him. Derek places himself next to her. "We can't give up hope. There is something out here and believe me, we will find a home." She finally responds. "There's nothing out here. We thought the ranch would be a home and look what happened. We tried going back to Richmond and that was a lost cause. Jeremiah isn't even with us and it's not fair." Derek looks away. "We still have to keep fighting. We can't just lose hope because things aren't going our way." She stares at him angrily. "I'm not giving up hope." She fires at him. "I can't believe you think that I don't believe there's something out there." Derek looks at her. Derek begins breaking down. "I'm so fucking stupid. I should've just stayed with Jeremiah and helped. He would still be here and know exactly what to do.." Clementine looks at him. "I thought we were going to find him by going back, but that place was burnt to all hell, and when we walked passed the area where the incident happened, I heard a walker under the shelf. I couldn't bring myself to do it. Not for him.. I tried, I really did, but I couldn't." Tears begin running down Derek's cheeks. "You should have told me. I would've done it so we could've known it was him. For all we know, Jeremiah could still be out there." Derek snorts and places his head up and stares at the stars. "Beautiful, isn't it? The fact that we can still sit here and admire the stars." Derek switches his view onto AJ. "And have someone like him in this world. I feel like I would do anything to shield him from it. He doesn't need to know the struggles of surviving. He's too damn perfect." Clementine glances at sleeping AJ and smiles. "I hear you. If there's a way he could know what the world was like before the walkers, I would place him there and lock him in that world. He doesn't need to be placed here. It's too dangerous and scary for him." Derek and Clementine stare at each other. Derek begins to lean in but Clem moves away. He notices and leans back. "I, um.. I'm sorry." He says. "I just can't. Not right now." Derek places his finger on her jaw and turns her to face him. "I'm gonna protect you and AJ. I'll make sure nothing happens to you and him." She nods and yawns. "Are you taking watch?" She asks. "Rest. You need your sleep. I'll take watch." She yawns again and closes her eyes.

Flashback to the Ranch

Clementine, Derek, and AJ head back to the ranch to see if anyone survived the attack. As soon as the reach the back entrance, Clementine's expression changed from happy to worried. All she saw was corpses and burnt buildings. "There has to be someone here." Derek says. He opens the gate and they walk in. Derek places his big bag on the ground. "Go search the armory. See if we still have weapons in there." She picks up the bag and hands AJ to Derek. They head their ways and the first house Derek checks is the one where he seen Jeremiah last. He begins approaching the shelf and immediately hears a walker under it. He starts to tear up but fights it. "I'm sorry." He begins to say. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you like you saved me. I promise I'll look out for Clem and AJ. You have my word." He walks out of the house hoping to find more people. Clementine comes back with a couple of guns in the bag and ammunition. "Was it looted?" Derek asks. "Yeah, but not badly. We had a sniper, a shotgun, and three pistols. There was only a couple of boxes for ammo so figured we should take it." Derek nods. "Find anyone?" She asks. Derek sighs and replies. "No. Not a person to be seen. I was hoping to see Pete or Francis but no one is here. They knew our plan. We always said 'if this place would one day fall, we all regroup here so we won't be left alone.' But I guess they didn't make it." "Any sign of Jeremiah?" Derek looks down and shakes his head. "Well come on, let's get out of here. There's one more place that we can go to." Clementine says. "And what's that?" Derek replies. "Richmond."

Flashback to Richmond

The three approach Richmond. The gate is up, which is oddly weird. They walk in and Richmond was gone. There were walkers everywhere and death all around. "You gotta be kidding me." Derek says under his breath. Clementine just stares as she cannot believe the sight she is seeing. "Javi.. Kate.." Derek places his hand on her shoulder. "Come on, we have to go." He tells her. Clementine wipes the tear off her cheek and they search for a place they can call home.
