Morning
Jeremiah wakes up and rubs his eyes. He looks over and notices Clem and AJ are still sleeping. He smiles and crawls out of bed trying not to wake them up. He does so successfully and begins to stretch. He yawns and grabs his clothes and heads to the nearest bathroom to get dressed.
Five Minutes Later
Jeremiah comes out of the bathroom dressed in his new clothes. He goes to the kitchen and notices that coffee has been made. He approaches the coffee maker and grabs a cup. He puts sugar in his cup and French Vanilla creamer in his cup then places the coffee in it. He grabs a spoon and starts moving it in circles in the cup until it looks just right. He lifts his cup and takes a drink. "Ah, that's refreshing." He told himself. He leans on the kitchen counter and then Clem comes in. "Good morning Clem." Jeremiah says. "Good morning. How'd you sleep?" Clem asks. "Better. Glad I didn't sleep on the floor. My body would've been sore and I know you wouldn't have allowed me to stay on the floor anyway." He joked. "Is that coffee?" "Yes it is. Would you like some?" "Yes I would. Thank you, Jeremiah." He smiles and goes into the cabinet and brings out a cup. "You want sugar and creamer in your coffee or do you like black coffee?" "Sugar and creamer please." He nods. "Coming right up." He places the sugar and creamer in the cup and grabs the pitcher and pours the coffee into her cup. "Would you like me to grab another spoon for your cup or use the same one?" Jeremiah asks. "Oh, it doesn't matter. Not like you have a disease that'll get me killed." Clementine responds. "Hey, you know what they say. Boys have cooties." He jokes and they laugh together. Jeremiah approaches Clem and hands her the cup. "One cup of coffee as requested, madam. It's hot though." Clementine giggles and takes a sip. "That hit the spot." She says. "You know, ever since we met, and I seen you punching that punching bag, I thought you were just gonna be some asshole who was into himself." Jeremiah chokes on his coffee a little bit and laughs. "Why is that?" "Look at you. You're built, you work out, you do a lot, I just thought you would be that way but I'm glad I got to know you." She says. "Same can be said for you. Well, except the asshole part. You didn't strike me as the asshole type. When I seen you, I seen you as the type of woman who will protect herself and what she loves for a reason." She smiles at Jeremiah. "How is it that you don't have a girlfriend?" "I already explained. I never really had time to go around meeting other girls. Besides, they never really appealed to me anyway." "I heard that some girl likes you. Diana I think her name is. Why not talk to her?" "I don't know. I just don't really pay attention to what girls do I guess. I focus more on my surroundings and the safety of the people I care about. That includes you and AJ. As long as you, him, and this ranch are safe, that's all that matters." Clementine sets her cup down and approaches Jeremiah and gives him a really passionate hug. She buries her face into his chest and smiles. "Have you ever thought of me that way?" She asks. She looks up at Jeremiah and looks into his eyes, hoping for an honest answer. "Well Clem, to be perfectly honest, I haven't. But we can talk if you'd like." Then it hit Jeremiah. "Wait, why did you ask me that? Do you think of me that way?" Clem immediately lets go and takes a couple of steps back. "I - I think so. It's just the last time someone had something for me, he died. I don't want that to happen to you." Clementine looks away. Jeremiah walks up to her and places his finger on her chin and makes her face him. "Nobody, and I mean nobody, will kill me. Only God makes that decision. He brought me here on this Earth, and it'll be His decision to take me out of it. If anyone will kill me, it's Him." That only makes Clementine worry more. He notices this and wraps his arms around her and gives her a really passionate hug and a kiss on the cheek. She looks up at him and stares into his eyes. "What was that for?" She asks. "That was me performing a task that I said I was going to do yesterday." "I thought you meant a different task." "Well, I have another one today but that one was one of them." She smiles. "Why haven't you done that for Diana?" "Diana found me during my toughest times. I know I should've but I didn't. She found me when I recently lost my dad and uncle. That was a couple of months ago. Then we heard rumors about Georgia and we decided to go there. Georgia was no different than L.A. No matter what, we're still in this hell hole of a world. Everywhere we go, it's always the same. Fucked." AJ comes into the kitchen. "Clem?" Clementine turns around and notices AJ. She unwraps her arms and picks up AJ. "Good morning goofball. You sleep okay?" AJ clapped. "That's good. Are you hungry?" AJ nodded. "I'll get some cereal." Jeremiah said. He opened a cabinet and found Fruity Pebbles. He grabbed them and a bowl. "Does he like milk in his bowl?" Jeremiah asks. "I never fed him cereal before. We always ate what we could find." Jeremiah shrugs and pours the cereal into the bowl and grabs a spoon. Clem sits AJ on a chair and gives him his breakfast. "I better get going. Francis, Alex, and Dave are waiting on me." Jeremiah says. Clem looks up at Jeremiah. "Hey." She calls out. He stops and turns around to look at her. "Be careful out there and be safe." "You too." Jeremiah leaves the kitchen and opens the door to the outside world.
