Afternoon
Jeremiah, Derek, Clementine, and AJ are in downtown looking for supplies when they come across a hardware store. "Haven't we looted from this place before?" Derek asks. "Yeah, but we need anything we can find. Nails, duct tape, anything." Jeremiah responds. "Alright, let's make a sweep." Derek orders. "Need one person to be on watch at the front and at the back." Jeremiah suggests. "I got front." AJ calls out. "I got the back." Clementine says and they both to their positions to take watch while Derek and Jeremiah begin looting. They take whatever they can find and place the supplies in their backpacks and they try to be as quick as possible. They keep searching. "Going to the next isle, holler if you found something or need me." Jeremiah says while pointing at Derek. Derek nods and moves to another isle. They take whatever they can find. Jeremiah comes across a wooden baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it and inspects it. "Yeah. Yeah, this'll do." He says to himself and places it in his backpack. Derek appears next to him. "Going to the next row." He whispers. Jeremiah nods and heads over to the front counter, hoping to find anything. He begins searching. A can rattles behind Jeremiah and he freezes, making sure not to make a sound. He looks around and behind him and doesn't see anything. He begins looting again then a walker comes up from behind him. The rotting skin of the walkers hands feels disgusting. Every single year they continue to rot and look like skeletons. Jeremiah throws the walker over his shoulder and grabs the bat and throws it down on the walkers head. It made a horrible cracking sound. The walker still reaches for Jeremiah as it growls at him. Jeremiah raises the bat again and throws it down and tends to do so until the walker dies. Jeremiah stops and glances at the walker. The brains are splattered everywhere, its eyes popped out of its sockets, and the head turned into a martyr. Jeremiah hears struggling from his left in the distance and runs over to the back to find Clementine struggling to keep the door closed. He sprints towards her and throws his weight against the door. "The hell is going on?" He whispers. "It's a herd." She answers quietly. "God dammit." Jeremiah whispers aggressively. Derek and AJ notice this and run to help. They throw their weight against the door, hoping that it won't open. "You guys have to leave!" Clementine yells at them. "I'm not going anywhere until these walkers head somewhere else." Jeremiah responds. "Let. Us. In." A voice whispers from the outside. This makes everyone look at each other with horrified expressions on their faces. "They can fucking talk?!" Derek questions. "No, it's the Whisperers. Bastards dress themselves in walker skin to avoid being ripped apart. You can mistake a Whisperer for a walker any day." Jeremiah responds. They still hold their weight against the door. "You. Die. Now." Another voice whispers from the outside. "You have to go now!" Clementine yells. Jeremiah approaches her and takes her to the side to talk. "The hell are you doing, Clem? We just got back together and you want to separate again for our safety?" He whispers. "Better than you being dead." She responds. "Hey." She says. Jeremiah still stares at the ground until Clementine places her hands on Jeremiah's cheeks and raises his head to look at her. "I got this." She says confidently. Jeremiah leans in and kisses her passionately. They pull away and he nods. Clementine approaches a shelf and places it sideways, making it block the door. She places it down and they watch as the door still struggles to open. "I got the rest, just go." Clementine orders. Derek stares at her with a worried expression and she immediately notices it. "I'll be fine, Derek. Just go." Jeremiah approaches him and grabs his arm and brings him with the others. Derek moves as he looks back at Clementine, hoping she'll make it out. They hear glass break and they begin running away from the hardware store.
Thirty Minutes Later
The three are inside Alexandria standing on the front porch of Rick's house. Jeremiah sits in a chair rocking back and forth while Derek bites his finger nail and paces around. AJ leans on the railing. They stare at the front gate, hoping for Clementine's arrival. Jeremiah stands up. "I'm going back." He says. Derek stops biting his finger nail and looks at Jeremiah. "Are you crazy?" He questions. "We barely got out of there, what the hell are you doing going back?!" He yells. "I'm going back to see if my girlfriend made it out!" Jeremiah yells with aggression while being in Derek's face. "I hate to break it to you, Jeremiah, but there's a strong possibility that she didn't make it." Derek says firmly and this only makes Jeremiah angry. "She's a survivor!" He screams. Derek slams his hand on the wooden railing with frustration. "We were fucking outnumbered back there with walkers and Whisperers trying to kill us, Jeremiah! Don't you fucking get that?!" "She knows how to get out of situations like that!" Jeremiah fires back. They stare each other down. "I'm going after her, whether you're coming or not." And Jeremiah walks past Derek and heads for the motorcycle. He gets on and starts it up and heads back to downtown.
Downtown
Jeremiah makes it back and instantly notices the carnage of the hardware store. Shelves are thrown all over the place, the windows are shattered, supplies are scattered all over. Jeremiah turns the bike off and kicks the stand out and gets off. He begins running to the store and looks in. Nothing but darkness. He pulls out his Beretta M9 and pulls out his flashlight and begins searching the store. After five minutes, he doesn't find her. He steps out and places his hand on his forehead and looks up into the sky. He lowers his hand and looks over to the right and notices something in the street. He stares at it, trying to get a better look. He sprints over towards it. As soon as he approaches, he notices it's Clementine. "Clementine!" He yells while sprinting over to her. He drops his gun and kneels next to her. She lays there with her hand covering her stomach. She opens her eyes and looks up at Jeremiah. "I love you." She says and moves her hand up to his face. There's blood all over her stomach. Her hand reaches Jeremiah's face and they kiss. They pull away and Jeremiah stares at her wound. "Wha- No- I- I can help with this." He begins but she stops him. "I tried, baby, I tried but they just kept coming." She quietly says. Jeremiah begins crying. "I can't lose you.." he says. "I'm so cold." She quietly expresses. "Listen to me, I'm going to get you back to Alexandria. You're going to be fine." He places his arm under her leg and the other by her head and lifts her up. She wraps her arms around Jeremiah's neck for support and he begins carrying her to the bike. He carefully sets her on the bike and gets on and they drive to Alexandria.
At Alexandria
"Help! We need help!" Jeremiah yells. In the distance, Derek looks over and immediately runs out to help. Others run out to help too. "You're going to be fine, honey." Jeremiah says trying to stay confident. "Stay strong, you know what to do." He says. Derek and the others make it. "What happened?" A lady asks. "Got stabbed. You a doctor?" She nods. "God help me, help her!" Jeremiah panics. They reach the house and set her on a bed and begin grabbing what the doctor needs. "Jeremiah, you may not want to be here for this." A man calls out. Clementine grabs Jeremiah's hand. "Please go." She quietly says to him. Jeremiah kisses her hand then her lips and walks out. Derek stays inside to help the doctors with the operation.
Fifteen Minutes Later
Jeremiah and AJ sit and wait for any news and Derek steps out and closes the door behind him. "How- how is she?" Jeremiah questions. Derek stares at him and puts his head down. "Is- is she alive?" Jeremiah questions while trembling. He begins taking heavy breaths. Derek looks up. "She's gone." He says. "Wh- there's no way." Jeremiah stops and places his hands over his eyes and begins crying. "Gone?" He asks with tears running down his cheeks. Jeremiah sniffles and begins walking to the door until Derek steps in his way. "Move." Jeremiah says. "I can't brother. I- I can't let you see her like that.." Jeremiah grabs his collar. "Like what?!" He yells with tears flowing down his cheeks. Derek looks down and his eyes start watering. Jeremiah places his head in Derek's shoulder and Derek holds him while crying. "She's gone, man. She's gone. She's-" he says while breaking down. AJ fights his tears, trying to stay strong. They pull away and Jeremiah approaches AJ and without hesitation, AJ throws himself into Jeremiah's arms and holds him. "I'm so sorry, buddy.." is all Jeremiah manages to say.
Inside the House
Jeremiah, Derek, and AJ gather around the body of Clementine and they hold their heads down while holding their own hands, showing respect for what Clementine has done and accomplished during her life. Jeremiah begins to speak. "She's a loss to everyone here." He begins. "When I got to know her more, I couldn't help but fall in love with her. She was strong, smart, and she could take anything you throw at her. No matter what, she always got back up on her feet and made a stand." He approaches Clementine's body. "I know you're watching over us now, Clementine." He tries hard to fight his tears. "We'll be with you soon." He finishes and kisses her forehead. He takes some steps back and they begin to mourn over the loss of Clementine.
