Next Morning
Jeremiah and Clementine wake up and look over at sleeping AJ and they both smile. They both sit up and he wraps his arm around her and she scoots closer to him, laying her head on his shoulder. "We did that." She says smiling. "Made him the way he is. If only Rebecca and Alvin could see him now.." she stops. "They can. They're watching over him right now, just like they're watching over you." She looks up at him and gives him a kiss. "Do you think we could have one?" Clementine asks. Jeremiah's eyes widened and he stares at her. "You serious?" He asks. "Yeah, I am. We have walls, protection, food, water, everything we need for a baby. We have the Kingdom, the Hilltop, and Alexandria. They could help provide for our baby." She says. Jeremiah chuckles and Clementine raises her eyebrow. "What?" She questions. "Just never thought that you wanted a baby of your own." He says. "Well I do." She pauses. "With you." Clementine hugs Jeremiah and he places his head on top of hers. "Derek mentioned that he was going to need me today." Jeremiah says. "Says it important. I should probably get going." He says getting up. "I'll go with you." She stands up. "Go where?" AJ asks while rubbing his eyes. Jeremiah walks over to him and gets on one knee. "Derek said he needed me today. I'm about to go see him. You can come along too if you'd like." "Yeah, let me just wake up first." Jeremiah nods. "Alright." He gets up and heads out to the kitchen with Clementine following behind him. "What are we going to tell him?" She asks. "Tell him that we're ready for him to have a brother or sister. He can be Big Brother AJ." Jeremiah answers. "Do you think he'll be ready for that kind of responsibility?" "He's handled other things, I'm sure he can handle a baby." "You're right." Jeremiah opens a cabinet and notices a letter taped to it. He takes the letter off and reads it. "What is it?" She asks. "Derek. Says he wants to talk to me." "When?" He looks at her. "Right now." "Aren't you going to fix AJ something to eat?" She asks. "Of course."
At the Gate of Alexandria
Jeremiah approaches Derek who leans on his motorcycle with his arms crossed. "What is it?" Jeremiah questions. He glances over to Derek's motorcycle and notices backpacks. "Don't. Not now. I need you here." "This is hard for me, too, but I have to leave. You wouldn't understand." Jeremiah walks up to him. "I'm not letting you go anywhere." Derek looks at him. "You're not going to stop me." "I will if I have to." They stare each other down. "Why must you leave, Derek? What the hell are you so afraid of?" "I'm afraid of watching the people I love die." "Running away from it only makes you a coward." Derek shifts his head to look at Jeremiah with the hair in his eyes. "Every one dies, we can't control it. If I die, so be it. The others may not see it that way, but everyone has a time. I don't plan on dying anytime soon but it could happen." Derek begins sitting on the bike and Jeremiah approaches him. "I'm hitting the road, whether you like it or not." Derek snarls. "You think you're just going to take off? I'll break your hands and legs if you make me." Derek gets off the bike and stands face to face with Jeremiah and they stare each other down. Clementine notices this from a distance. "Oh no." She says worried. She sprints towards them. Derek shoves Jeremiah. "This ain't your choice." He growls. "Brother, now is not the time. We can settle this without hurting each other." Derek swings and Jeremiah ducks, tackling Derek to the ground. Clementine grabs Jeremiah from behind pulling him off. "Stop it!" She yells at them. Derek begins pacing while staring at Jeremiah. "What do I have to do to prove to you that I need you?" Jeremiah aggressively asks. "Nothing. I'm done." Derek places himself on the bike and starts it and drives off. Jeremiah throws his fist up and places his hand on his face, lowering his head. "Why, Clementine? Why did you stop me?" He asks. "If he thought that it was best for him, then let him go. It was his decision." "You just let my brother drive off to God knows where! He didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to the others.." "Don't put this on me! I didn't want to watch you two fight!" She fires back. "I know you see him as a brother Jeremiah, but sometimes brothers have to separate for the greater good-" "How dare you say that to me." He growls. "Excuse me?" Jeremiah approaches her. "Derek has always been my best friend. I never saw anyone else as a brother like I did him and for you to allow him to drive off like that-" He pauses. Jeremiah begins walking off. "Don't walk away from me!" She calls out. Jeremiah stops and turns his head to look at her. "Get back here and do something." She says firmly. Jeremiah walks towards her. "You think I'm not? I'm about to go after him." Clementine slaps him. "You are staying here with your family." "He's part of that family!" He yells. They stare each other down. "You gonna hit me again or what?" He says in a dark tone of voice. As she was getting closer to him, walkers entered inside Alexandria and this causes Jeremiah and Clementine to lose focus on their argument and on to the threat. "Go get AJ!" He yells at Clem. "I'm not going to just leave you here!" She walks up next to him, knife in hand. They stab the walkers. Jeremiah looks at her and nods. More walkers approached and this made Jeremiah worried. "Dear God, no." He says quietly. Clementine's eyes go wide. "Go get AJ and take him out of here now!" "We can't leave without you!" She yells. "Just go! I'll catch up!" Clementine nods and sprints towards her house. Jeremiah begins killing walkers and begs for more. "Come on, you undead fucks!" Clementine runs past Rick and he stares at her. "Clementine, what's the problem?!" He calls out. She ignores and keeps on running. He peeks his head from out of the corner and notices walkers inside Alexandria. "Shit." He says. He grabs his Colt Python and runs towards Jeremiah to help defend him. "What the hell happened here?!" He yells. "Walkers entered inside the gate!" Rick glances at him. "The fuck was the gate doing open in the first place?!" "Derek drove off! I didn't close the gate in time!" Jeremiah responds. Rick pulls out his hatchet and begins slicing walkers. "Go to the armory!" Rick yells. "I'm not just going to run away and have you face them!" "Yes you are! Now go!" Jeremiah stands there taking more walkers out. "Go god dammit!" Jeremiah ignores him and continues to take walkers out. Travis, Cory, and other men have arrived with guns to defend Alexandria. They begin shooting at the walkers. As Travis was reloading, a walker was approaching him. "Shit!" He yells trying to reload as the walker gets closer. He swings the gun and the walker dodges and stabs Travis in the gut. "You bleed out and join my army." He whispers. Rick glances over and recognizes the walker. "Whisperers!" He yells. After that was yelled, Molotov's were thrown into Alexandria, knocking everyone down. "We got New Frontier!" John yells from the guard tower. "Fall back! Fall back!" Rick yells. They sprint away from the herd, the Whisperers, and the New Frontier. "I need to find Clementine and AJ!" Jeremiah yells at Rick while sprinting. "Go find your family!" Rick responds. Jeremiah nods and runs to his house noticing it's on fire. "Oh no.." he says worried.
Clem's POV
"It's okay, AJ." She says coughing. "I've got you." She walks over to him and grabs his hand, using her arm to cover her mouth trying not to inhale smoke. She enters the hallway and notices the home is burning down. The front door busts open and Jeremiah looks at them. "You guys alright?!" He questions. "We need to get out of here!" Clementine yells. Jeremiah sprints towards them, dodging the rising flames. "There's a window not too far from us to escape!" He yells at them. Parts of the roof were giving in and they dive out of the way. "Get yourself and him out of here!" He yells. "Dad, we're not leaving without you!" He runs toward Jeremiah, diving over the piece of burning wood. "AJ!" She yells. She runs over to them. Jeremiah hears cracking above his head and looks up. "You have to go now!" He yells. "No, we can't-" AJ begins. The wood begins falling down and Jeremiah shoves AJ and Clem. The wood collapses onto Jeremiah and he lays on the floor unconscious. "Jeremiah, no!" Clementine yells. "We have to help him!" AJ suggests. They run over and begin to lift the wood but they can't. It begins catching fire. "AJ, we have to go now!" Clem yells. "But Dad" "He'll get out of this!" Clem says. Travis runs in and notices Jeremiah on the floor unconscious with burning wood on top of him. "Go! I got him!" He yells at Clementine and AJ. They run off and look for the window. He begins lifting and struggles. "Come on, you goddamn son of a bitch." Wood falls nearby him and this only makes Travis panic more. He screams as he lifts and finally gets the piece of wood off of Jeremiah and drags him outside. He picks Jeremiah up and places him on his shoulders and walks away with the home burning down behind him.
Three Hours Later
Jeremiah wakes up next to a fire with Travis sitting right next to him. "Clem!" He yells sitting up. "Easy." Travis responds placing his hands in front of Jeremiah. "What- Where are they?" He asks worried. Sweat begins running down his face. "They made it out." Travis replies. "Where are they?!" He yells. "I don't know." Jeremiah falls back onto the log behind him and stares at the stars. "Clementine, AJ, where ever you are, I'll find you." He says firmly and the last thing he sees before he closes his eyes is a shooting star.
