Plot: Can saves Sanem after she takes a bad fall whilst the agency goes camping.
"Sanem!" He'd been calling her name for what felt like an eternity. Amidst the trees, his voice seemed to echo eerily, affirming the worries that had already settled deep within him.
They'd been camping as part of the office's new campaign and the scavenger hunt had ended with her missing. Can being Can had noticed her absence immediately after everybody had regrouped. He'd searched the crowds and felt his heart sink deep into his ribs at the fact that Sanem wasn't with everybody else but in the woods by herself. He knew she was more of a city girl; the forest wasn't her forte. "Sanem!"
Utilising his experience of the outdoors, Can glanced down at the earthy path he was following, his eyes clued open for any sort of indication of human contact. He spotted the imprint of some boots and felt his pace quicken. He was close, he could feel it.
It was then that he noticed it; the ditch. As fast as his legs could carry him, Can sprinted to the mouth of the hole, his breathing faltering at the distant sight of Sanem passed out unconscious in its depths. He wasn't sure if he was relieved that he'd found her or petrified that she wasn't responding to him. Her hair was tangled with the branches and the weeds on the floor and from where Can was stood, he couldn't help but choke on the sight of her clear distress.
"Sanem, are you okay, Sanem?" She was irresponsive as he called for her and Can withheld the urge to curse. There was a fresh wound on her forehead, her blood leaking across her skin. She was going to need some form of medical care and Can quickly notified the rest of his team that were out searching for Sanem as well. "I found Sanem!"
Can tried to call for Sanem again but to no avail. Her body wasn't moving and Can knew he couldn't just leave her there. He needed to do something, anything. Within seconds, his mind was conjuring up a plan for him to get into the ditch and get Sanem out of it and he began moving with a sense of purpose.
As soon as he began initiating his plan, the first person to respond to his call for help was Fabri. Of course, it was. Fabri had become the bane of Can's life as of lately, he had been trying to flirt with Sanem since they broke up and despite wishing well on her health right now, Can subtly rolled his eyes as Fabri suggested, "we need rope."
Whilst Fabri took the responsibility of sourcing a rope, Can gathered sticks and rocks in his jacket before lowering his body down towards Sanem. She still hadn't moved and Can worried for the worst. As he slowly edged further and further down, his impatience grew. And as soon as he was on flat ground, he was racing towards Sanem. His hand captured her cheek and he practically whispered her name, like a mother does to a child before bed. It was soothing, inviting.
"Sanem, Sanem." His fingers stroked over her hair and her hands, coaxing her out of her pain. She winced as she gained consciousness. "Is your head spinning?"
"My head is spinning." Sanem groaned the words out, her hand lifting to clutch her aching head.
"It's okay, it's okay. It doesn't seem too bad." Can wasn't a doctor, he couldn't assess the damage to Sanem's head efficiently. However, he just wanted to comfort the girl he loved. She looked distressed and a fall like the one she had experienced couldn't have been a pleasant one. "Don't panic, we'll get out of here soon, okay?"
"Okay." Sanem mumbled as she tried to desperately raise herself into a sitting position.
"Calm down, don't panic." Can continued caressing her cheeks in an attempt to soothe her. "Are you able to get up?"
"Yeah." Sanem's hands clung to his bicep, a few groans of pain slipping from her lips, as he helped her. She was a strong girl – both mentally and physically – and with the assistance of Can, she was able to sit up against the rock wall that surrounded them both.
"You're okay, alright?" As reassurance both to her and himself, Can looked over Sanem's face for anymore injuries whilst he dusted the leaves out of her unruly hair. "Is your head still spinning?"
"I'm okay."
"You wait here. I'm going to get us out of here, okay?" Can clutched Sanem's cheeks with his large hands and placed a kiss to her cheek before pursuing his plan to get them out of the ditch. The branches and sticks he had collected earlier where being forced into the mud and dirt on the way up from the ditch, like stairs. He planned on getting Sanem onto his back and then getting them back up to freedom.
Once he was done, Can picked Sanem up and onto his back, his hands gentle against her body, careful not to cause even more injury to her fragile frame.
"Stay calm, okay? We'll get out of here now." Just for good measure, Can ran his fingers over Sanem's face again. Her beautiful face was tarnished by twigs and leaves and he was eager to get his normal, whimsical, cheery Sanem back. "Just hold onto me tightly. Can you do that?"
"I'll hold on tight." Sanem looked down, almost ashamed and blushing and Can excused the light redness in her cheeks by kissing on it again.
"Put your legs around me." As Sanem jumped onto his back, Can acknowledged how comforting her presence was. He was also thankful that he had gotten to her when he had. It was a bit of a struggle getting them out of the ditch, but Can was doing it. He moved slowly but surely and before either of them knew it, they were surfacing from the ground and into normal air.
As soon as they were out and Can knew Sanem was safe, he launched her body into his arms. Now it was his turn to hold onto her tightly, his arms encircling her waist, so she couldn't slip so easily from his fingers again.
"I'm okay ... I was just so scared." Sanem pulled away and sobbed to Can as little frown lines became evident on her face.
"It's gone now." Again, Can reassured Sanem, his hands pulling her in for another hug. He was glad it took Fabri a little longer to find the rope he was searching for because hugging Sanem in the silent comfort of the woods meant it was just them. There was no drama or no outsider perspective. They were just plain old Can and Sanem.
He comforted her, and she comforted him.
