Plot: When Sanem leaves to go work for Yigit, Can and CeyCey follow her.
Can Divit never thought following a girl was his thing.
Back in high school and college, his friends had fawned over girls ... following them to and from places in an attempt to woo them. Can had thought it was stupid. If a girl really wanted him that bad, she'd come after him. And frankly, the girl's he had liked had done exactly that. Can was spoilt force choice most of his life and that was what had made Sanem extraordinary - what set her apart from the crowd.
From the moment they had kissed in that theatre box, Can had felt the sparks between them and yet, Sanem had been adamant to fight it, them ... him. Later, Can had discovered that this was because Sanem had been working for Emre. He remembered the agony he had felt upon discovering this news. It had broken him and his idealistic perception of their relationship. However, Sanem had fought for him; their love ultimately had overpowered her initial reluctance to be with him. She had persisted and pushed her way back into his heart .. she'd pushed for hard that Can had had no other option but to fall to his knees for her.
But it seemed Can had been taking this persistent Sanem for granted.
Because no longer was she trying to catch his attention or foolishly sneezing as Polen walked by. Sanem had done exactly what Can had told her - she had stopped referring to them as we. She had decided that she was done fighting and had left the agency.
Can knew it was his fault. He had let his anger consume him to the point he had driven Sanem away. But, a part of him had just assumed that Sanem would still be there waiting for him. He had thought that he could run off to the Balkans and Sanem would still be the same girl working tirelessly at the agency ... tirelessly pinning for him.
On the other hand, Sanem had taken control over her life. After learning that Can had accepted to work with his ex-girlfriend, she was distraught. Sanem had always had an underlying insecurity when it came to Polen. Polen wasn't just a girl who fancied Can - like Ceyda - she was a girl he had seriously dated and for someone like Sanem, who had never been in a relationship, Polen had always been a threat. So, learning of Can's decision to leave with Polen, Sanem had realised that she had been fighting for Can to no avail. He hadn't even bothered to listen to her explanation before sprinting back to his ex and that had hurt. It had hurt so much that Sanem had uprooted her life and started anew.
Yigit had come hurtling into Sanem's life - literally - and she couldn't have been more grateful. Even though he had hit her with his car, Yigit had been a blessing in disguise. He had offered her a job and with little deliberation, Sanem had said yes. If Can could start a new life ... so could she.
And whilst Sanem settled into her new working life, Fikri Harika felt the sizable hole following her departure. Sanem had become a staple in the office and not having her around just didn't feel normal, especially to the likes of Can and CeyCey.
"I think we should go see how she's doing." CeyCey speedily suggested to Mr. Can, instead of going over the document he was meant to be talking about. He was worried for his best friend and he had tried everything in his power to stop her from leaving but clearly, it hadn't worked. "What if she's really unhappy? We can bring her back here, right?"
A younger Can would have told CeyCey to take it easy and relax. He wasn't the type of guy that followed a girl around ... but in all honesty, the current Can thought CeyCey's idea sounded full proof. In an ideal world, Sanem was completely displeased with her new job and all Can would have to do was swoop in and save the day.
"I'll get my car." With work at the back of their minds, Can and CeyCey had decided to go undercover at Sanem's new work place. CeyCey had even come prepared with the blacked out glasses and a hoodie for the both of them. "Do you see her?"
"Shh." CeyCey whispered loudly, his eyes peeled open for Sanem. The new office they were in was incredibly trendy and very different to that of his own and CeyCey was trying to grasp his bearings. It seemed he and Can had picked the ideal location to hide - behind an arrangement of tall, green plants. "Is that her?"
A brunette girl in a short black dress and a pair of heels could be spotted next to Yigit from a distance and the two men pulled their glasses away from their eyes to get a better look. As she moved closer, Can felt his breathing hitch in his throat - he would recognise her anywhere. She looked absolutely breathtaking.
And it wasn't her outfit or her hair that made her look breathtaking ... it was the smile imprinted on her face. Can admired how her lips lifted upwards, how her dimples crinkled ... the way her teeth were perfectly aligned. She radiated happiness and warmth. She was his little ray of sunshine among the dark clouds that had settled over him and her smile was growing as much as a spring flower open. Can could see how it came from deep inside her, the light shining in her eyes like diamonds. She looked relaxed and at ease and it was beautiful.
But as he admired her laughter resonating from a distance, Can felt his heart sink. Not only did it look like she was thriving at her new job, Can hadn't seen her smile like that in what felt like an eternity. He couldn't remember the last time he had made Sanem smile or laugh as heartily like that and it crushed him that Yigit could do it, despite only knowing her for a few days.
Had he really been making her feel that miserable lately?
"CeyCey, lets go-"
"But-"
Before CeyCey could even stop Mr. Can, he was stealthily making his way back to his car. Of course, CeyCey sprinted after him, careful to keep his disguise going as her crept out of the office. "Mr. Can, what happened?"
"What if it's too late?" Can sighed, his back collapsing against the side of his car. "You saw her, CeyCey ... she's happy, without me."
"You listen to me, Mr. Can. Sanem has done this for you, over and over again. You're not allowed to give up on her that easy."
"But you saw the way that Yigit made her smile ... laugh-" Can tried to control his jealousy but he couldn't. The image of Sanem and Yigit burned freshly in his head and he desperately wanted to claw it out.
However, the next thing that happened utterly shocked Can out of his treacherous train of though - CeyCey slapped him. Hard.
"I don't care about this Yigit, yoghurt guy ... whatever his name is. She loves you and you love her so pull your socks up and fight for her!"
An angry CeyCey was a scary CeyCey but ultimately, Can knew it had been the reality check that he had needed. There was no way he was leaving for the Balkans when his life rested here in Istanbul. He was going to fight for her - he was going to prove that he was worthy of her love.
