Plot: The aftermath of Sanem seeing Can and Polen together in episode 29.

Sanem knew she had done wrong by lying to Can about the deal with Fabri. She knew how much her scent meant to their relationship, but her logic, at the time of giving it, had been that nothing matter more than him, and them. And Can, her albatross, was of no use to her whilst behind bars.

She had meant to tell him – she really had – but it never felt like the right moment. And now that he'd found out from somebody else, Sanem knew it would be bad. She was prepared for him to lash out and be angry. She was prepared for him to ignore her and act a little irrational. On the taxi ride to his cabin in the woods, Sanem had prepared for it all. She was growing antsier and antsier as the journey stretched but she knew her, and Can would overcome it all.

However, what she hadn't anticipated was to find him with Polen – in their place.

Even though she was in the wrong and she had no real right to be angry at Can for being upset, Sanem felt betrayed. She felt played by Can and the fact that Polen's hand was resting comfortably on his knee without any objection. If the roles had been reversed, Can would have blown a casket. He'd blown one when Fabri had made some inappropriate comments about her; punching him square in the jaw so that he'd stay away from her. And Sanem didn't get why she wasn't extended the same curtesy. The thing that made it worse was that Sanem did trust Can. She knew he wouldn't do anything with Polen but the thing that bothered her was that he confided in her – as a friend. Upon finding out the truth, he hadn't called her ... he'd ran straight back to Polen and that hurt, badly.

The tears filled her eyes unintentionally and before she hide amidst the trees, Can's head lifted as if he could sense her. His eyes widened in surprise and before she could gauge any other reaction, Sanem went running off into the distance.

The taxi that she'd arrived in had disappeared and she didn't know what to do in the wilderness by herself, but she just kept running. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her and what surprised her most was that she could hear no footsteps following her. Can had been so angry and upset that he hadn't even bothered to check if she was okay.

That was what triggered an influx of Sanem's tears. She cried her way to the main road, her soft pink clothes covered in dirt and foliage. She didn't know how long she walked for but once she was in a taxi, Sanem felt her heart truly break. Sitting still in the back of the car by herself let the realisation of the whole situation kick in and she began wailing, much to the driver's surprise.

"Ma'am, are you okay?"

Sanem ignored him until she got home, only meeting his eye to hand him some money. When she knocked at the front door, Leyla was the one who answered and she didn't have to say anything, she grasped her into her arms and hugged her as tightly as she could.

"Shh, Sanem, shh." Leyla skilfully avoided the kitchen, where their parents were sat, and directed Sanem upstairs. As if she were a child, she tucked her into bed and lay by her side. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"He ... he-" It took Sanem a while because of the sobs but she was eventually able to tell her abla the truth.

"Shh, okay. It'll be okay." Leyla stroked Sanem's head gently, lulling her softly until she fell asleep in pain.

Once completely certain that she was passed out, Leyla slid out from beside Sanem and grabbed at her phone; dialling the one person who she knew would help explain her sister's plight.

"Emre, what did he do?" Leyla snapped, her eyes drifting to her sleeping sister with tear streaks down her face.

"Leyla?" Emre, who had been having a drink in front of the television, was baffled by the abrupt tone of his beloved. "What are you talking about?"

"Can is what I'm talking about!" Leyla clenched her fists, anger bubbling within her. "I get it, Sanem lied. We all did but Polen? Seriously?!"

"Wait, wait, wait-" Emre practically chocked on his whisky. "What do you mean, Polen?"

"Sanem went to talk to Can and found him confiding in Polen."

Leyla continued to describe the state of Sanem prior to her falling asleep and Emre pushed his drink away and speedily grabbed for his car keys. He had done enough damage to his brother's love life and now, he was eager to fix it. Sanem had been the girl who had encouraged him and his brother to make up at the hospital and he would be forever grateful. Blinded by his love for Aylin, he had once treated Sanem really poorly and now was his time to make up for it.

Emre raced towards his brother's little wooden shack and thankfully, found him on his own.

"Emre?" Can rubbed a tired hand across his face. "I'm not ready to listen to your excuses-"

"Okay, be mad, Can. Be angry but you can't keep treating Sanem like this-"

"She lied, Emre! You all did!" Can jumped up from his seat, throwing his arms around aggressively. He was angry and justifiably so. Why was it that his loved ones always lied to him? His mother, Emre, Sanem ... they were all the same.

"And you let her wonder into the woods by herself, upset! With no car, no taxi ... she wandered by herself for hours!" Emre exclaimed, throwing his arm out to the endless stretch of foliage adjacent to them. "The poor girl even cried herself to sleep!"

At that news, Can felt his heart sink a little. Watching Sanem cry always made him upset. But he felt pretty guilty about leaving her in the woods to fend for herself. He'd just thought she'd ran back into her taxi and gone to the shore or home. He had been too angry at that moment to go after her and explain his situation with Polen.

"Is she okay-"

"I know you and Polen have this strange bond but today looked bad, abe." Emre scolded his older brother like he was a child. "Things go wrong in your relationship and you go running back to your ex-girlfriend? Imagine of Sanem was running to someone like Levent in a moment like this-"

"Polen came to me, I was just sick of people lying to my face and she was there as solace-"

"She lied to protect you! Do you think she'd rather you be in jail? Behind bars?" Emre remembered Sanem's face at the police station, the tears bubbling in her eyes. She cared for Can deeply and she did everything in her power to help him. "She was blaming herself for your arrest and she did what she could to get you out. She wasn't thinking about anything other than you! Are you really this angry? Think about it-"

"But-"

"But what? Would you not do the same for her? If she was in danger, wouldn't you put your life down for her?"

Can paused – of course, he would. He loved her, more than anything.

"I messed up, didn't I?" Can spoke after a pregnant pause filled with much deliberation.

"Yeah, you really did." Emre shrugged truthfully. "But you love her, and she loves you ... so go do something special and both of you apologise."
