Polar's Pov.
Well once the time came I knew I would chose one or the other. Which one? It all depended on when the time came. So for now I won't worry about it.
2 weeks later.
The green nuisance didn't even know I was so close. Then I pounced, crushing its head instantly.
It was a quick death without any pain for it. I didn't like to make prey suffer before it died. It should have a painless death. But that doesn't always happen.
I like to think of myself as a painless killer. Not one of those pain giving predators.
After eating the entire green nuisance I was still hungry. So, time to hunt bigger game. You better watch out prey! Cause Polar is coming to kill you!
Sniffing the air, I caught the scent of a sharp beak. (Othnielia) Slowly I started stalking the scent.
It led me to a whole herd of sharp beaks. Automatically I started analyzing the herd of sharp beaks. Looking for weaknesses.
Narrator talking.
Polar looked at the herds for some time before she made her decision. She would attack the young Othnielia, that wandered away for its herd.
Slipping into the tall grass, Polar slowly started creeping towards the unsuspecting Othnielia.
Once it turned its back to Polar, she struck. Jumping onto its back, she sank her death claws in and ripped.
The Othnielia struggled. Letting out distress cries. The bull Othnielia started charging towards the young one.
That's when Polar swung her whole body under the Othnielia. Digging her death claws into its soft underbelly.
Using her hand claws, she dug into its throat. Ripping at its jugular. But then the bull got to them.
Polar knew she wouldn't make it if this bull got to her. Sinking her teeth into the young one's throat she tore it out.
Jumping off of it, she backed up into the grass. The bull didn't see her get into the grass, he was to busy checking on the young one.
After figuring out it was dead he backed off and went back to his herd. Polar then came out of the grass and started tearing at the claw marks she had earlier made in its stomach.
After eating the guts, Polar was full. But she didn't want to waste the good food. So she went to the tree line and laid down.
She would sleep there and in the morning she would go and eat more.
But what Polar didn't know was that a pack of three velociraptors had watched her hunt the Othnielia.
Another thing she didn't know was that the alpha of the pack wanted, this exemplary hunter in his pack.
Being able to take down an Othnielia on your own, was a great feat in the alpha's eyes.
He knew that his pack needed another strong hunter. His pack was rather small only 5 members and no hatchlings or eggs.
Only three members of the pack could hunt. The other two were still young. They still needed to perfect their hunting strategies.
They were good, but not good enough to hunt big game or on a team yet.
