Mating season was now a week away and Red was flirting with Stripe and Polar. He just couldn't decide who he liked more.

Stripe was quick to become Moss' friend. The two of them became almost inseparable. Polar was also distancing herself more and more from her friends and sister.

As the mating season neared Red confronted Polar. So the two of them went to a private place to talk.

Polar's Pov.

This is it! This is what I've been waiting for! He's gonna ask me to be his mate!

"I would like both of you to be my mate." He told me. I reeled back in disgust. "No. I will not be a side thing." I said with disgust.

"But you won't be a side thing. I will treat you both the same." He reasoned. But I didn't believe him.

I would be a side thing. I couldn't be that. It would be like cheating on your mate. Just like my bastard father.

"You are just like my father. A lying, cheating, bastard!" I screeched. I could see the hurt in his eyes.

The whole pack knew of my father's bastardy. "I'm gonna say goodbye to my friends then I am leaving." I told Red.

I walked gloomily back to the pack. The water ran over my body, washing away some of the pain.

"I'm leaving." I told them. "What? Why?" Moss screeched. "Him." Was all I said before nuzzling Moss and Spot.

"Live a good life sister." I mumbled while nuzzling Stripe. "Goodbye Red." Was all I said before exiting the cave.

The waterfall washed away all of my past. I was a new raptor. I would not be backstabbed again. This was a promise.
