Sometimes, she would catch glimpses of him, from around the corridor and in her bathroom; somehow, he would always be somewhere one second, then gone the next.

She would see his head of red and white hair peeking from under her sheets, or his bare feet bounding down the stairs within her apartment.

It was starting to become freaky, almost supernatural.

Well, unless you counted seeing a boy whom you know nothing about, never seen before come and go in your home freely almost on a daily basis. Shiro could've assumed she was going mad.

Having just moving in a month or so ago, she had found this place peaceful and nice, it had a homey feel to it.

But then, during her first day of staying in it, Shiro saw the boy on her couch, his split head of hair sprawled across her cushions and hands beneath them. He was asleep, and peaceful at that.

That was the first time she had seen him. And throughout the whole month, she would continue to see him wandering about the apartment. At some point, Shiro had tried reaching out to him but once her fingers touched his skin, he disappeared.

Shiro sighed, coming down from her upper bedroom to get herself a mug of morning tea, but to stop when she spotted red and white by her kitchen island. He had a ceramic mug in his hands, steam rising from it as he stared at nothing.

Who was he? She had always wondered to herself whether he too saw her from time to time, whether if he too had this weird phenomena happening to him, if he were actually real and living and not some hallucination from her own mind.

Man, did she need to get out more.

"Good evening stranger-that-appears-in-my-apartment." It wasn't like he could hear her anyways, so why not make some one-sided conversation. She didn't have many friends, so this was as fun as it gets.

He didn't respond, continuing to sip on his drink -Shiro thought it was coffee- as he stared off with a blank look. After preparing the tea, she sat across from him by the island, openly staring and memorising his every feature.

It was weird, to see someone that could look so much like you. To have the same split hair with the only difference being the colour. Shiro had split white and black hair, while he had red and white.

His eyes, they were beautiful to her. One was a great ocean cerulean blue, glistening like the sea glass chime by her veranda; the other was a mysterious grey, as if hiding all his secrets in a thick fog. If possible, Shiro had no doubt that she could just stare at his eyes all day without even getting tired of it.

Then, right by the left side of his face, was a scar that surrounded his eye, the skin red from what Shiro had always assumed to be a burn. But from what she didn't know.
