"Shoto-" Hearing her call his name, Shoto strained his ears to listen to what she had to say. Her eyes were wide in fear and with tears that fell from her cheeks, but a wavering smile was on her lips as if to reassure him.
"-find Keii."
Shoto was in disarray.
Within the next twenty-four hours after the whole event, police and medics had come in to inspect the entirety of both Classes 1-A and 1-B, along with the teachers and other Pro Heroes that were still present.
During those twenty-four hours, Shoto was a complete blank slate, when investigators tried questioning him or medics tried asking him if he were hurt severely, he couldn't speak. It was like his brain had totally shut down on him, and his grasp on the world around him was lost. All he knew was that Shiro was gone that night, and it was all his fault.
Another thing he knew was that the wound on his side had manifested to the point where pulsing veins of purple had spread from it all the way across his chest. He didn't know what was going on with it, but it was surely not a good sign. Although how much urgency he knew it was, his mind still wouldn't force himself to acknowledge it.
"Find Keii."
Just what exactly did those words meant? Why did she tell him to find Keii -her cat- during when she was being kidnapped? Shoto couldn't understand just what she wanted to tell him. It wasn't like tending to her cat would make her return back to him-
"Todoroki, you gotta eat something, man."
Blinking out of his own thoughts, he looked up from the ground he had been staring at to see Kirishima who sat across from him. They were dressed in their own clothes, sitting in the hospital's -the one where most of their classmates were- cafeteria.
"I'm fine, Kirishima." He said, denying the request that said redhead had made, who only looked back at him in concern before sighing.
"Look man, I know you're kinda distressing over Kurayami and all, but your health comes first. You haven't eaten every since that night." Shoto knew that Kirishima only meant well, and he was thankful for it, but he just couldn't get himself to listen.
After all, he didn't have the appetite to consume anything. Even the sight of food made him nauseous, and it was because his mind would flash images of Shiro and blood, which would only further make him feel like vomiting. So he couldn't eat, he's afraid he'd be sick if he did.
His reluctance in answering probably made Kirishima give up in having him eat something, seeing as he hadn't heard anymore demands from him. But his classmate was still there, he could feel the burning stare directed at him.
"Hey, Todoroki." The few seconds of silence was once again broken by Kirishima, to which Shoto acknowledged him with a hum, his eyes still directed downward to the table. "You wanna get Kurayami back, right?"
