A True Moon God

"You seem to be in a pinch." You whipped around to see Shinjiro floating above you with a stoic expression. "I heard that you might be in a predicament, so I rushed over immediately." He said, a hint of emotion in his features. "Shinjiro..." You breathed, happy that he was here to save you. "But it seems that things are only beginning." He said as he looked away. Right at that moment, the beast was upon you and it let out a sickening laugh. "Finally! This foolish game of cat and mouse is over!" He went to grab you, but you dodged his hand. 

He growled in frustration, speedily trying to catch you (think of a cat trying to catch a laser dot). Everything stopped when you disappeared. The demon stood up and scratched his head, wondering where you had gone. "Lord (m/n)!" The spirits cried in sadness. But then the beast turned around, revealing that you were on his back. The demon could still smell you and continued to whip around to find you. It was then that he saw his shadow and yours right on top of his. He growled and reached to swat you off his back. He couldn't reach you so he resorted to trying to buck you off. 

You were jerked around like a rag doll but refused to let go. Sadly, your grip said otherwise as you were flung into the air. So high, that you fell onto a branch. You almost had the air knocked out of you from the impact. Shinjiro's face then appeared in front of yours. "Would you like some help, Hokuto. I imagine you must." You gritted your teeth. "All you have to do is apologize for making everything so messy," Shinjiro said as he sat up. "Like hell, I would ask you for help!" Shinjiro was about to retort when you felt the beast grab your ankle. 

"I've finally got you, boy! Soon, I will have unimaginable power!" He then let out a hearty laugh as saliva leaked out of his mouth. You screamed as you struggled to get out of his hold. With your other foot, you slammed down as hard as you could on the beast's hand. He let go, falling back to the ground. "Just apologize!" Itsuki and Yukito cried out repeatedly. Meanwhile, the demon recovered and decided to knock the tree down instead of climbing it. You shook with every blow and you felt tears prick your eyes. "No! There is no way that I'm going to apologize and ask him for help!" The tree started to fall and you screamed. 

Shinjiro gasped as he watched you fall. You flew from the tree and landed hard, having to wait for your vision to steady. When it did, you saw the beast loom over you with a vicious grin. You quickly rolled away and got up. "You stupid boy! All you had to do was apologize and ask for help! Now you're going to die because of your foolish pride!" Shinjiro scolded as he landed in front of you. You looked up into his eyes and grabbed his collar. You brought your other hand to his face and kissed him, your cheeks pink from the contact. 

You parted from his lips, "Alright Shinjiro, help me right now, jerk!" He gasped in surprise at the force of your command. Glowing gold bands appeared around his wrists. "CURSE YOU!!" Shinjiro cried out. A blinding light appeared and the two shrine spirits were in tears of joy. "Lord (m/n)," Yukito said as he brought a handkerchief to his eye. "And with that, the contract is sealed," Itsuki said. "You have become a true, honest, and good Moon God. Congratulations!" The two said in unison. 

The light disappeared and Shinjiro stood there with a dark shadow covering his eyes. You both opened your eyes and stared into each other's eyes. The beast stared in confusion, "What the hell?" Shinjiro had an annoyed look on his face as he darkly raised his hand. "Quiet!!" The demon now sat in front of the tree, bound by a special kind of rope. "Shinjiro," You spoke his name. "What?!" He demanded as he sent you a harsh look. "Thank you," You said, surprising him. He only stared at you in silence. "Let's get out of here," You said with a gentle smile and everyone agreed.
