(The image above is what Polaris looks like)

It's been almost a week since the whole "Kurama Incident", and things have been nice. Nanami is currently helping the Land Goddess of the Lake, so you're left with your own duties as the Moon God. "Lord (m/n)!" Itsuki calls out your name. Your head pops out from your room. "There you are, Lord (m/n)," Yukito says as he runs towards you. "What's going on?" You asked and Itsuki floated up to your face. "As the Moon God of the Shrine, it is your jobs to check on your subordinates." Your face lit up in surprise.

"I have subordinates?" You asked and Itsuki nodded. "Yes, since you are the God of the Moon, you also reign over the stars." Yukito stepped in, "And they come to you with their reports or anything they need your permission on." Yukito explained. "And since the Moon God has been gone, little things have been accomplished," Itsuki added. "So now that there's a God present again..." The two jumped in to finish your sentence, "The stars are going to report to you!" Your breath caught in your throat.

"Tsukuyomi has been gone for almost twenty years, and that's a lot of reports! And all these people are going to be coming to me for wisdom?!" Your thoughts were swimming with worries and how you're supposed to handle this. "No need to be overwhelmed, Lord (m/n)," Yukito comforted. "The Stars completely understand and are taking turns to meet with you," Itsuki informed, calming you slightly. "Thank you, that makes me feel a lot better." You said and the two shrine spirits only smiled.

"So, who am I meeting first? And when?" You asked the two. "Ah, the first one you are going to meet is Polaris, since everyone thought that would be easier," Itsuki answered. You were happy that your first meeting was going to be with someone familiar. But then you realized that you don't really know Polaris at all. He may not be what he appeared to you as. "And when?" You asked, but then saw Shinjiro appear.

"Today."

Nervousness shot up your spine. "Lord (m/n), you must prepare immediately!" Yukito and Itsuki said in unison. They ushered you back into your room. "You must change into something presentable," Itsuki said as he pulled out a beautiful kimono. The helped you into the kimono and tended to your long hair. "Just having it down, would be nice." You said and they let it be. Itsuki and Yukito stepped back to look at you, and they were in awe. You turned to look in the mirror, and you couldn't believe that was you.

"Uwah! Lord (m/n), you look amazing!" Yukito complimented and you smiled at him. "Let's go greet Polaris, I'm sure he's almost here!" Itsuki said as you all left the room. When you neared the room, you heard an unfamiliar man's voice. You appeared at the door. Shinjiro's back was to you as he spoke with Polaris. Polaris's eyes flickered over to you and he smiled handsomely. "Ah, Lord (m/n), it's nice to see you again." Shinjiro turned around to look at you, only to have his eyes widen in shock. You looked so... beautiful. He regained himself and came to your side.

"It's nice to see you again too, Polaris." You said in return as you walked into the room, still nervous about what to expect. Polaris chuckled, "Indeed, it's nice to be in my true form," He said as he looked down at his arms, "And please, refer to me as Po." He said as he looked up into your eyes. You nodded and the two of you sat down. "The food looks exquisite," Po said and you agreed with him. "Shall we get into it, then?" He asked and you nodded. "Alright." Po then moved to your side and grabbed your hand. "What are you doing?" You asked and he chuckled.

"Giving you my reports and current problems." He said as he looked straight into your eyes. He then looked down at his hand on top of yours, and you did the same. Imagine your surprise when you saw sparkly dust appear around his hand and go into yours. Suddenly, thoughts and images started appearing before your eyes. "Woah?" You breathed in fascination. "It's called Stardust. It transfers feelings, images, thoughts, and clips from one person to the other. Tsukuyomi originally had this ability and gave it to all of us...our own little language."

Po said softly and you smiled. "It's beautiful." Po chuckled and said that it was, as he continued to stare at your hands. Shinjiro watched on, the scene never ceasing to amaze him. He remembered watching Tsukuyomi doing this with the other stars. One day, he had asked him to give him this ability, but Tsukuyomi told him no. When Shinjiro asked why Tsukuyomi replied, "Because I need at least one person to have the courage to speak with words".

"(m/n), you now have this ability because you're the Moon God, and you get to choose who you can bless with this ability," Po explained as the Stardust began to dwindle. The images faded away and you were left as you were before. You laughed and turned to look at Shinjiro. Po started to laugh, saying that your reaction happens to everyone their first time. When your laughter died down, you turned to look at Po. "Po, I have questions that need answers." Po only hummed. He had quite the personality, you'd give him that, but you knew he held so many secrets.

Whether they're good or bad, you had no idea. "Is Tsukuyomi alive?" You asked and he smiled. "I knew you would ask that." Po caught Shinjiro glaring at him. "Yes, Tsukuyomi is alive, but not well." You sat straighter and asked about his health. "He is very weak and can hardly move, but he is alive," Po explained. That description reminded you of your mother. "Can...can I talk to him?" You asked so softly as if you never spoke. A grim line appeared on Po's lips, "I'm afraid not. I can barely talk to him," Po said as he gazed down at the table.

It was quiet now. Shinjiro knew the question that was burning your throat, so he asked for you, "My master is wondering if Lord Tsukuyomi planned to make him the Moon God after his mother's death. Is this true?" You looked over at Shinjiro, wondering how he knew what you wanted. Po sighed and answered, "Putting it like that makes it sound so awful. His 'plan' was that when he felt that Hokuto was ready, he wanted to pass his title onto him. It just so happened after Mayumi passed on." You shuddered a sigh and thanked him for answering.

He only nodded, a concerned look on his face. "But I will tell you this, (m/n)," Po started as he leaned towards you. "Each time I make contact with him, he looks better. He is regaining the light in his eyes and it's all because of you, (m/n). You are making him so proud that you're his son." Tears pricked the corners of your eyes and you lurched forward, wrapping your arms around Po's neck. "Thank you so much for saying that!" You said into his shirt. He was stunned by your actions, but then smiled softly and gently returned the hug.

"Of course, my little master." Meanwhile, Yukito and Itsuki stood by Shinjiro, tears gushing out of their eyes. "I am so happy that Lord (m/n) has received closure at last," Itsuki said as he tried to battle his tears with a handkerchief. "This is truly a moment that will never be forgotten." They both then joined in together, "Because now, Lord (m/n) understands how important his role is in the big picture." Shinjiro barely paid attention to the two spirits. His thoughts were on a different wavelength.

"(m/n)...why do you have no reason for me to hate you? Why do you have such a good soul and a kind heart? And why...are you nothing like him, but exactly like him at the same time?"

After talking more and eating, Po decided that it was time for him to leave. You were walking with him to the entrance before he swiftly turned around, startling you. "Oh, I almost forgot!" He continued, "If you ever need anything, just say my name and then whistle." You tilted your head. "I can just whistle and you'll come?" You asked and Po laughed and nodded. "Sorry, but how did that become a thing?" You asked and Po snickered. "It's because Tsukuyomi did that with Sirius, the Dog Star. And it totally worked! You should have seen how red Sirius got! Haha, he was so embarrassed."

Po laughed and it was contagious as you began laughing too. "So, to make Sirius feel better, Tsukuyomi applied that to everyone." Po finished. He then left the room but turned around to give you a smile. "We shall meet again, Master Hokuto," Po said before he jumped in the air and became stardust. You watched as the wind carried him up to the heavens. You smiled softly, happy with how the night ended. "Come, Lord Hokuto, it is time for you to retire for the night," Shinjiro spoke and you turned around to look at him.

"Shinjiro...thank you for helping me. I might've never brought myself to ask that question." Shinjiro blinked in surprise, not expecting you to make a big deal about it. "I simply asked because it annoyed me to watch," he said as he swiftly turned around. Your face rose into surprise before it fell into a smile. You knew that your open appreciation caught him off guard, causing him to be flustered. You chuckled to yourself, much to the disappointment of Shinjiro. But for a small moment...a small smile graced the man's lips.

For not even he could deny that he enjoyed the praise of doing good.
