chapter 8

It's been three months since Kaiyo was forced to take over the clans and she hasn't talked to the girls from Otonokizaka or her friends. She also hasn't seen nor heard from her siblings. She's been in contact with Four stars academy but she hasn't been able to talk to them in person at all. Her parents have been found but the clans aren't aware of it since Four stars academy has covered up anything to do with the plane crash survivors being found for their safety. Yume and Subaru are in a coma from the injury that they sustained three months ago and is being treated at Nishikino hospital in secret. Kaiyo is almost always followed by a maid while at the main estate and doesn't have any time alone but does have allies there that help her maintain contact with both the Hospital and Four stars academy. 

"Kaiyo-sama please look over these and give a report. Toru-sama has sent them to you." A maid said as Kaiyo sat at a desk. "Understood. Don't go anywhere, It won't take more than five minutes." She said and looked at the papers. "Has he said anything about my parents?" Kaiyo asked as she read. "No he hasn't. It seems that the search for them has stopped and they've all been announced dead." The maid said and Kaiyo nodded. "That's understandable. Thanks for telling me. Here you go, I'm finished." She said and handed the papers back to the maid. "Thank you Kaiyo-sama. I will let you know if Toru-sama says anything." She said and left. "When will you wake up, Mama and Papa?" Kaiyo thought as she rested her head on her desk. 

"Kaiyo-sama that's bad for your posture." A butler said walking into the room. "Why didn't you knock?" Kaiyo asked glaring at him. "I did but it seems that you weren't paying attention." He said without batting an eye. "What do you need, Dog of Toru." She asked, not dropping her stare. "Toru-sama wants to see you. He says that it's important." He said and Kaiyo stood up. "Fine. I'll be there in a minute so leave." She said and the butler left without another word. 

"What do you need Toru?" Kaiyo asked as she walked into the common room. "There's going to a banquet tonight. The Nishikino's have invited us as guest. We will be leaving an four hours so be ready by then. After the banquet, we will be heading back. You will be expected to be on your best behavior since there will be people from important clans and companies that we can make allies with." Toru said and Kaiyo nodded. "Understood. I'll be ready by then." She said and left. 

"Kaiyo-sama, we're here to help you get ready." A maid said and opened the door. "Very well." Kaiyo said and started to get ready. "Your skin is so fare that you don't need any makeup. Toru-sama wants you to accompany the Nishikino's daughter, Nishikino Maki tonight so you'll be wearing a suit. He has prepared one for you with your exact sizes." A maid said and Kaiyo nodded. "If that's what he wishes for." She said and finished getting ready. 

Later that night

"Yuuki-san thank you for coming." A man with black hair said, shaking Toru's hand. "It's my pleasure. This is my great-great niece Kaiyo. You asked her to escort Maki-chan tonight?" Toru said. "Yes, Maki heard about her and asked if she could escort her tonight. Her friends have also been invited since she asked for it. I'll have a maid take Kaiyo-san to Maki's room." He said and a maid walked over. "I'll see you tonight. Behave yourself in front of Maki-chan." Toru said and Kaiyo nodded and followed the maid. 

"Excuse me?" Kaiyo called out and the maid glanced back at her. "Do you know why Maki-san has asked me to escort her tonight?" She asked. "Maki-sama didn't ask for you. The master did so that he could talk to you. He's asked me to tell you to meet him on the terrace tonight to talk to you." The maid said and Kaiyo nodded. "Alright thank you for telling me. Is Maki-san's friends here right now?" She asked and the maid nodded. "They're all inside this room. Knock before you go in so that she knows that you're here." She said and left. 

"Excuse me? Nishikino-san?" Kaiyo called out as she knocked on the door. "Come in." She heard and opened the door. "Yuuki-san?" Maki said and Kaiyo bowed. "It's nice to see you again." She said and noticed the other girls in the room. "You've grown taller since we saw you last." Maki said and Kaiyo nodded. "Yes I have." She said and was smacked in the head. "Stop talking like that. It's annoying and it's getting hard to breath." Mirai said and Kaiyo rubbed her head. "Are you sure that there's no one listening in?" Kaiyo whispered and Maki nodded. "I'm sure. Be comfortable." She said and Kaiyo sighed and loosened her tie. "Finally I can breath. So how have you been?" Kaiyo asked sitting down on a chair. "We've worried about you. You leave without a word three months ago and then show up here for a banquet." Maki said and Kaiyo smiled at her. "I had to do what I could to protect my family. I was forced to take over my clan and if I didn't, they would've involved my siblings." Kaiyo said. "It's because of your parents right?" Eli asked and Kaiyo nodded. "They were found the night that I went to the main estate. They don't know and have been getting treated by the Nishikino hospital." Kaiyo said and heard a knock at the door and fixed her tie and stood up. "We'll be going to the banquet hall soon so please be ready." Maki's mother said and they nodded. "Oh Mirai, where's Hinata? Did he stay at the apartment?" Kaiyo asked and Mirai nodded. "He's watching Tsubaki-chan and Shouta-kun." She said and they left. "See you in a few minutes." Maki said and got into the car and Kaiyo followed.
