chapter 11

"Kaiyo wake up. It's time to get up." Yume said, shaking Kaiyo in the morning. "Five more minutes, Mama." Kaiyo said and turned. "But we have to leave the hospital. The doctor said that we're allowed to go." Yume said and Kaiyo woke up. "We have to get Tsubaki and Shouta from my apartment." She said and they smiled. "We already had someone get them and they brought both of them to the house. We'll meet them at the house." Subaru said walking up. "Are you going to take the train home?" Kaiyo asked. "Hime-chan is coming to pick us up. She wouldn't listen to anything else." Yume said and Kaiyo nodded. "I have somethings to take care of here. Can I come by later?" She asked and they smiled at her. "Of course. It's your home as well. We'll see you in a few hours so by safe and call us when you're on your way." Subaru said and Kaiyo left. 

"Excuse me, Head mistress?" Kaiyo called out as she knocked in the office door. "Come in Yuuki-san." She said and Kaiyo opened the door and walked in. "I head about your parents waking up. Are you coming back to school then?" The headmistress asked. "Am I still a student here?" Kaiyo asked and she nodded. "Of course. The person who came to inform us about the situation just said that you'll be taking a leave from school." She said and Kaiyo nodded and took a breath. "I will be returning to school on Monday and I'll like a permission form to join a club." Kaiyo asked and the headmistress nodded and smiled. "I have one in here. Just give me a moment." She said and looked in her cabinet. "Thank you." Kaiyo said as she was handed the paper. "I'll inform your teachers that you'll be returning." The headmistress said and Kaiyo nodded and left.

"Ah Yuuki-san!" Kaiyo heard as she walked through the hall. "Huh?" She said turning around. "Does this mean that you'll actually be coming back to school?" Honoka asked and Kaiyo nodded. "I'll be attending classes again on Monday." She said and the girls smiled and cheered. "That's good. Maybe you can wear the proper uniform." Eli said and Kaiyo smiled. "I'll think about it. Anyway, see you all on Monday." She said and walked away. "I won't let you pass the gate if you don't wear the proper uniform." Eli said and Kaiyo looked back at her. "Then I'll just have to sneak by." She said and ran off. "She's never going to wear the proper uniform is she?" Nico asked smiling. "That's just her expressing her individuality." Nozomi said and they left the school.

"I'm home!" Kaiyo said walking into the house she longed to see. "Onee-chan! Mama and Papa are taking  us out for dinner tonight!" Shouta said running towards her. "That's great Shouta. Where are they right now?" She asked smiling. "They're in the back with Tsubaki." He said and they walked back there. "I'm home, Mama, Papa." Kaiyo said walking back outside. "Welcome home Kaiyo. Did Shouta tell you that we're going to a restaurant for dinner tonight?" Subaru asked and Kaiyo nodded. "So where are we eating?" She asked and they smiled. "It's just to the family restaurant at the shopping district. The one that we went to last time." Yume answered and Kaiyo nodded again. "Alright." 

While they were walking home after dinner, Kaiyo was stopped by two kids around her age. "The upperclassmen are waiting in the high school." The boy said and Kaiyo nodded and looked at her parents. "You can go. We know how important this is for you." Yume said and Kaiyo nodded and ran off with the two. 

"What do you want? I'm no longer a student here." Kaiyo said walking into a classroom. "You never picked a person to take over your position in the elementary division. Who do you want as the elementary boss?" A girl, older than Kaiyo asked. "Go with Azusa. If that's all I'm leaving." Kaiyo said and was stopped by them. "You know that she's just a first year. There's no way that she can control all of those kids." A boy said and Kaiyo glanced back at them. "But I was put in charge in my first year. You asked who I wanted and I said who. Respect my wishes. I'm leaving and don't bother me again." She said and left. 

"I'm back!" Kaiyo said when she got home. "We're having a movie night. Come to the living room after changing into your pajamas." Subaru said and Kaiyo nodded and went to her room. "Everything went back to normal so quickly." She thought as she changed. 

"Took you long enough. Come and sit. The movie is about to start." Yume said smiling and Kaiyo sat in front of her on the floor. "What's the movie about?" She asked. "You'll see." Subaru said smiling mischievously. "That's scary." Kaiyo said and looked at the screen. 

"She always falls asleep before the movie ends." Yume said as she covered Kaiyo with a blanket. "She's like you when we were younger." Subaru said as Tsubaki and Shouta went to their rooms. "Good night you two." He said and they nodded. "Good night." They both said before closing their doors. "Good night Kaiyo. See you in the morning." Yume said, kissing Kaiyo's forehead before going to her and Subaru's room for the night. 

The next morning, Kaiyo was the first one up like usual and went for a run before everyone else woke up. 

"Nothing changes after being gone for almost seven months. Everyone's gotten older but they still smile warmly." She thought as she ran. "The things that you take for granted the most are the things you're going to miss once they're gone. I finally understand what you meant, Papa." She thought. 

"Kaiyo-san? What are you doing back here?" Kaiyo heard as she walked back. "It's nice to see you again to, Kyo." She said and the young boy bowed. "Forgive me, I was just surprised to see you back in town after so long." He said and Kaiyo smiled. "It's alright relax. I'm not your boss anymore." She said and he nodded. "Did you really appoint Azusa as your successor?" He asked and Kaiyo nodded. "I did. Help her out alright? Mirai, Hinata and I are no longer there so you have to help her out. Be her second in command." She said and Kyo nodded. "If that an order or a request?" He asked. "It's my last order to you. Help Endo Azusa and be her second in command." She said and Kyo bowed. "Understood." He said and Kaiyo walked away.
