I woke up to Minho standing over me, shaking me awake. "Get up, Greenie. You start your running today." He said.
It was still dark, and all of the other Gladers were sleeping. I still wasn't used to my awkward sleeping schedule. It seemed like every day I was doing a different job.
I got out of bed, and yawned. I then realized I had slept in Newt's clothes. "You go wait outside the Homestead for me, I have to change." I said, and he nodded.
I quickly slipped off his shirt and pants, and then put on my own jeans and shirt. Mine were fitted better, but Newt's were still more comfortable. I slipped them into the box under my cot, deciding I would give them to him after I got back.
I left the Homestead, where I found Minho waiting. We walked over to the map room, and entered. He pulled out a backpack for me.
"Alright. So in here you'll have your lunch. And, here's your watch." He said, handing me an electronic wrist watch. I put it on.
He explained when the doors open and close, why I get a watch, who all has a watch, and so on.
When we were done, we went to the kitchen to get our lunch from Frypan.
"Good luck out there Rosa." He said, offering me a weak smile. I could tell he was a little nervous for me, but I knew I would be okay.
Minho and I walked over to the Maze doors, and waited. It was light now, and everyone was awake and headed to breakfast.
The doors opened, and we took off into the Maze.
As soon as we started running, I was astounded by how amazing it was. The grey walls were covered in thick vines, and it was actually quite beautiful.
We weren't sprinting, or running really fast. It was more like a high speed jog. We kept the pace all morning, until it was time for lunch.
Minho slowed down to a walk, and I did the same. Once we both caught our breath, we sat down to eat.
"So, what'd you get in your package last night?" He asked me.
"Oh, nothing. Clothes, and stuff..." I trailed off. Did he know about the blades?
"That's it, huh? Because Newt wouldn't tell me what else you had in there.."
"You talked to Newt?" I asked, a little to quickly.
He gave me a weird look. "Yeah, I did.. What's going on? Does he know something I don't?" He asked. I shook my head and took a bite out of my sandwich.
"You're lying. Tell me." He pressured.
"It's just feminine stuff, okay?" I said. He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, whatever." He said. We both shut up and ate for a minute, and then he spoke again. "Why were you guys in there so long? Did it really take all that time to show him a box of clothes and girl stuff?"
I was stunned. Did he know more than he should? I just shook my head. "Minho, back off. We were just talking." I said, and took a sip of water. I packed up my lunch and stood up.
"Ready to go already? You only ate half of your sandwich!" Minho said, standing up as well.
I shrugged. "I don't eat much." I said, and we took off again.
---
When we finally arrived back at the Glade, we had about half an hour until supper. Minho went off to the map room, while I wandered off on my own.
Suddenly, I noticed Gally. I had honestly forgotten about him the past few days. He must've been let out of the Slammer last night. He started coming towards me, but I walked away.
