I was stuck in bed, and it sucked.

It was the next day, and Clint had brought me upstairs so I could have a room to myself on the Med-Jack floor.

Of course, I was bored out of my mind. Thomas, Minho, and Newt were all at a Gathering, Alby was sick from the Changing, Clint was busy with the girl, and Frypan was cooking. But it wasn't like Newt would visit me anyways, he was probably still mad. Yet again, Ben could've come to visit me.

But Ben was dead.

While laying in bed, I suddenly heard the door open. I quickly sat up, to see it was Jeff. He was holding two wooden things, but I couldn't tell what they were.

"Look what I've got!" He grinned, and held the items up. I gave him a look of confusion, and he rolled his eyes. "Crutches, shuckface."

It suddenly made sense, I guess they did look a little like crutches. He handed them to me, and I got to my feet. Or foot, technically.

It felt strange and unnatural, I felt like I needed to use both feet. But after taking a few steps, I kind of got the hang of it.

"So, even though you have crutches now, you should probably still rest. I think you should only use them for things like going to the bathroom, so we don't have to be carrying you back and forth." He said, and if nodded. I observed the crutches, and they seemed a little worn out.

"Hey, have these ever been used before?" I questioned.

"Well, yes. About a year ago, maybe."

"Who used them, and why?"

It didn't seem like anybody would ever need to use crutches here, unless they purposely got hurt. Like me.

"Ah, no one. Can't remember, to be honest." Jeff said, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. I raised an eyebrow at him, but decided to drop it. He was obviously lying to me.

I went back over to my bed and got in again. There was no point in just standing around on crutches if I didn't have to.

"So how did the Gathering go this morning?" I asked the Med-Jack Keeper.

"Pretty shucked up, to be honest. Gally ran out and into the Maze. I have no idea why, but the bugger seemed out of his mind."

I sat up in shock. "Gally is gone?!" Not that I didn't mind, I hated the shank. But there must've been a reason for him to run out. He was insane from the changing, everybody knew that. Maybe he'd finally lost it for good.

Jeff shrugged. "That's one less psychopath we have to worry about." He said, and left me alone.

I was going to sleep, when I abruptly heard shouting from the room next door. I got onto my crutches and went over there as quickly as I could. Just as I was about to open the door, Thomas stumbled out with his hands over his ears.

"Thomas!" I shouted, grabbing him. He was breathing heavily, like he was insane. It was actually a bit terrifying. "Hey, Thomas!" I shouted again, shaking him by the shoulders. He looked up at me, insanity glowing in his eyes.

"She's... She's freakin' talking to me! In my mind!" He screamed, and got out of my hold. He ran down the stairs, and out of the Homestead. I stood in confusion, wondering what had just happened.

Newt then came out of the room, and I froze. After a moments pause, he spoke. "Do you have any idea what the bloody hell just happened?" I shook my head, and started to walk away. "Rosa, wait."

I stopped, but didn't turn around, nor say anything. Newt sighed. "I'm sorry. About everything. I just didn't want you to get hurt, or die. I love you, so much."
