General POV

7 am came and Peter woke up. He was tangled in unfamiliar sheets and wrapped in Elizabeth's arms with a little 6 year old in between them. Peter still had to wrap his mind around the idea of a son but he was getting use to it.

After seeing Elizabeth with their son, it all made sense to Peter. This is why she didn't want a child. They already had one.

Peter untangled himself from the bed and walked into Neal's kitchen. It was small but it was big enough that he couldn't find anything in the cabinets.

Peter didn't feel like finding Neal or anything at the moment. He just wanted a few minutes to himself before the day started. He didn't know how he was going to see his "boss" today. He didn't want to leave to go to the one place he thought he was actually good at working there.

But that was all a joke. He was a joke. Peter didn't feel like he deserved to even call himself an agent. The biggest thing in his life was all a joke.

This job was what Peter thought he could do and it brought so many opportunities. Meeting his wife was the top of the list. Neal was a definite second.

Peter hadn't really talked to Neal after their argument last night. It wasn't huge but it did way Peter down. It ate at him even after Neal was so nice.

Peter felt the need to find him right there but he also didn't want to leave his wife and child alone. Peter already felt himself slipping into his father role.

He didn't have to go look for Neal because he saw Neal's closet door open and heard him talking. Peter stood up and walked over to the open door. Peter looked inside and saw Neal sitting on the floor and Kate across from him. They seemed to be talking but not the way Peter though they would be.

"You basically raised him. You're just going to give him back? No feelings hurt?"

Peter knew instantly who Neal was talking about.

"Of course. I'm not his mother. He knows me as Aunt Kate and Elizabeth and Peter are his parents. I have no claim over him."

"That wasn't what I meant. I meant that you raised him and you got so used to him being around you and living with you, you're not going to be upset?"

"Of course I'll be upset but I'll still see him."

Peter felt sorry for Kate. He knew that she had feelings and everything but the way Neal worded his question had Peter worried. Elizabeth told Peter how she saw Christopher and talked to Kate about parenting last night. He knew how Kate raised their little boy and Peter was okay with him calling Kate his aunt.

"You're staying in New York, right?" Neal asked her this question with a broken tone in his voice.

"Yeah. I'm trying to get back all the things Hues took from me."

Peter chose this time to move away from his hiding place. He felt wrong standing there. Peter sat down at the table and went back to his thoughts. Maybe this job could bring something. Once they get Hues, Peter and Neal can get things back.

Peter saw the files and papers Neal and Kate were working on and started reading them over while Kate and Neal talked things out.
