Chapter 15: Moving on.

It's been a month sense the lunch from hell. Things have changed so much. I filed for divorce from Edwin. Theo and I are living in our own penthouse. I moved my head quarters to the DeLawncray building. I still own half of D.I. so I do all my business through my PA or through Jack who is still the COO at D.I. and my representative now.

Alessandro has gone back to Italy upon my request to give me time to heal. Shane and Edwin are having a rough time due to Edwin's crazy mood swings. Shane and Jack have become my best friends. Shane and I stopped our romantic relationship but kept our friendship. I just can't handle a relationship right now. Emma and I do not speak anymore even though she tries daily she is as bad as Edwin. Huh maybe they should have been together from the start. The are so alike. Emma moved in with her mother. Jack and her are talking and taking things slow. Jack says he doesn't know if there is a future for them anymore. Theo and Edwin are still strong in their relationship but Theo can sense that something is wrong and so Edwin explained that Daddy did a few things that were so wrong that it deeply hurt mommy. He just doesn't know what Daddy did that was wrong. I'd never mess that up. The only thing is that the pick ups and drop offs go through Patrick or Dad.

The biggest change of all though is that I am currently sitting in the Doctor's office with Patrick, Jack, and Shane by my side waiting for the Doctor. The door opens with as someone knocks. "Well Mrs. Donovan congratulations you are 6 weeks pregnant." The Doctor says. We let the Doctor run through everything and once we get to the car it's completely silent.

"Abigail, 6 weeks ago..." Shane began before I cut him off. "Yes, I know. You were away on business so that means it can only be Edwin's." I finish his statement.

Silence.

"Take me to D.I. now please and don't leave me there alone." I tell them and they all nod.

We get into D.I. and Mrs. Jones Edwin's PA tells us he is in the conference room finishing a meeting. I thank her and go to the meeting room. The meeting room is in a secluded area where no one can hear and I notice the door is open. As we walk further on I hear Edwin and Emma. I freeze as does everyone else. "What can I do Edwin? Jack won't even talk to me. I think he doesn't love me anymore. I wish this never happened. I can't loss him he is my everything and Abigail hates me she is my family I have nothing." Emma cries. "So I've had Roberto my old friend who is a P.I. look into that night and from what you two have told me and the hospital report. Thank heavens you went to the hospital the next day. It seems as someone drugged you both." Edwin's father said.

I didn't understand and didn't care anymore. I just wanted to do what I had to do and move on. I walk gracefully into the conference room making them look at me and the others. "My love, it's so nice to..." Edwin said excitedly as he stood from his chair but I spoke up. "Edwin I'm not here for pleasantries. I'm here to inform you we just came from the doctors and I'm pregnant. The reason why I'm telling you is because from what the doctor says I'm 6 weeks which means you're the father because Shane was out on business trip at that time but we can still do a DNA test. I know it's not the ideal situation or the ideal time but either way it happened now I'm here to talk some things out with you. Do you want to be put of the birth certificate and if so do you want the child to have your surname? " I said. "Yes, of course to all of that." He replied.

"Theo and I are moving to Italy...." I was cut off by Edwin. "No, no no you are not going to him. I don't trust him. He caused this whole mess. He is trying to take you from me. Your are not going." He spoke. "Like I was saying Theo and I are moving to Italy. We will visit for one week a month. We are only going for a year or so due to a shipping deal I have going on with Mr. Moretti. My point man for the job has a sick wife who has been hospitalized so I figured I need to step away so that is what I'm doing." I explained. "Patrick and I will be going with her to make sure no harm comes to her." Jack elaborated.

"There is no changing your mind is there?" he says as he lets out a exhausted sigh. "Have Theo Facetime me everyday. You also have to now that you are carrying my child I don't want to miss anything. When you get back for that week each time you stay with me so that I can have family time with my two children." Edwin stated. "We will see, goodbye Edwin." I said as I turned to leave.
