Sophie took several deep breathes as Iggy nestled against her side. Holding Ella tight, she tried to shove the nightmares away, but they refused to listen. Lady Gisela's voice echoed through her head. The words she had said right before she took Tam. Despite the deep breaths, tightness coiled her chest, making it hard to breath. Sophie gave up and dragged herself out of bed, trudging into the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and took a hot shower. But despite the shower, she still felt the pit in her stomach.

Sighing, Sophie pulled herself from the bathroom and sat on the edge of her bed, wet hair soaking the back of her shirt. Iggy watched her with his big glassy eyes. Sophie clapped her hands and the curtains opened to reveal the sun just peeking over the horizon. Sophie sighed again and her thoughts turned to Fitz, which turned up another problem.

Sophie had been given her matchmaking packet and said her answers on the packet will probably open some options, but the words still hung in her mind. SOPHIE ELIZEBETH FOSTER IS UNMATCHABLE. Sophie knew it was early, but she really wanted to talk to Fitz. He helped way more than she wanted to admit. Building up the courage, she focused and sent a quiet strain of thought to him.

Fitz?

Sophie waited for a second before a reply was sent back her way.

Sophie?

Ya.

You okay?

Ya.

What is it?

I just...

Sophie felt a spring of emotions and tried to stop her thundering heart.

It's been so hard. I just, I feel like I'm losing more of the little control I have. With Tam and the matchmaking thing and with the Black Swan getting weaker and-

Hey, it's ok. Do you want me to come over?

I don't know what Sandor would think of you coming over here at this hour. It's only dawn.

How about Biana and me come over sometime today? Would that help?

Sophie thought for a minute, before answering.

Yes. That will be nice. Thank you Fitz.

Do you need anything else?

Not really.

Okay. How's Silveny doing?

She's great. Greyfall and Silveny really love their foals. It's adorable.

Sophie sent an image of Silveny and Greyfall running around with the foals.

They're getting really fast. Yesterday they busted out of the paddock and it forever to catch them. Even Silveny and Greyfall had a hard time.

Sophie replayed the scene of the chase, the foals wings fluttering as they did little tricks in the sky before landing again. Luna soared high out of Greyfall's reach before diving towards the ground, her long legs scrambling for friction when she hit the ground. She held her head high and snorted while running faster. She stopped and whinnied, then reared while tossing her mane before taking off again.

Geez. Fitz interrupted. She reminds me of Keefe.

Greyfall and me got the easy one. Wynn had to have Silveny, Edaline, Grady, and several of the gnomes help before they caught him.

Sophie replayed the scene. Luna took off again right as Sophie was about to catch her, but Greyfall was there to grab her by the mane with his teeth. Luna had shrieked in surprise and dismay before Sophie made a makeshift halter with the rope and wrapped it around Luna's small head.

Tell Greyfall nice catch for me. Fitz said.

Already did. Sophie answered.

When do you want Biana and I to come over? Fitz asked.

Really, anytime. I don't have much today since school is out for whatever happened.

I know it's weird. Fitz said. You and Keefe didn't do something this time.

Sophie felt blush rise into her cheeks and was once again glad that he couldn't see her.

Well, I better get ready. Sophie sighed mentally.
