One Year On

It was the end of Summer and so I was just getting back to school. I was very excited to see Gabby. Her and I were great friends. Sarah just turned into, ahh, what did Daddy call it? Oh! A bitch. Yeah, a bitch.

Gabby was so sweet and fun loving. She was my puzzle pice and I was hers.

It was December. Julia got way more meaner. The fact that I was in 2nd grade already scared me. I've always had this fear of growing up. People at the orphanage said that it was a curse and a blessing. Mostly a curse though.

I walked in to school to see Gabby waving to me from our table.

I walked into the classroom and said good morning to Mrs.Carney. She was the teacher.

"Hey Gabs." I said.

"What's up Ly?" She asked.

"Nothing much. Trevor and I just finished the vocals to Echo and recorded the whole EP." I said.

"So that's apparently nothing." Gabs said.

"What have you been up to?" I asked.

"My mom and I just finished the vocals to Really Don't Care. I did the rap." Gabby said.

"I love that song!" I said.

"Yeah I know you say that everyday!" Gabby laughed.

After school was over I asked Sam if we could get me a spiral notebook.

I wrote in big blue words with a marker.

'Lyric Pottorff's Song Book.'

I went into the book and started working on a song.

(Insert All Time Low owns this song but eh. Somewhere in Neverland.)

Verse 1: Say goodbye to the halls and the classes. Say hello to a job and the taxes. The weekends with old friends spilling into 9-5 routine. Tell me how you feel over and done with, like your life is a map with no compass to guide. At the bar drinking way to much we sing along to forever young.

Pre-chours: So here we go again. Wishin we could start again.

Chorus: Wendy Run away with me I know I sound crazy don't you see what you do to me. I wanna be your lost boy. Your last chance a better reality. Yeah! Wendy! We could get away I promise if you and Me say the word and will find away. I wanna be your lost boy your last chance an everything better plan. Oh! Somewhere in Neverland.

Verse 2:

We'll start a life of the plain and the simple

Of great times with far better people

And weekends with our friends

Laughing about the wine that stains their teeth

We'll talk about how your parents separated and

How you don't wanna make the same mistakes as them

I'll say it's all about stickin' it out

And trying to feel forever young

So here we go again

Wishin' we could start again

Wendy run away with me

I know I sound crazy

Don't you see what you do to me?

I want to be your lost boy

Your last chance, a better reality

Wendy we can get away

I promise if you're with me, say the word and we'll find a way

I can be your lost boy, your last chance

Your "everything better" plan

Oh, somewhere in Neverland

So here we go again

Wishin' we could start again

Wendy run away with me

I know I sound crazy

Don't you see what you do to me?

I want to be your lost boy

Your last chance, a better reality

Wendy we can get away

I promise if you're with me, say the word and we'll find a way

I can be your lost boy, your last chance

Your "everything better" plan

Oh, somewhere in Neverland

Oh, somewhere in Neverland

(Somewhere in Neverland)

I rushed into Ricky's room.

"Ricky I may have just written you A new song." I said handing the book to him.

"Oh my god! Lyric this is great! Do you mind if I take it?" Ricky asked me.

"It's for you!" I said.

Ricky hugged me.

From the back of my eye I saw my daddy there and he seemed hurt. His face was drained and he looked life-less.

"Daddy?"
