God Sent

6- I Remember That!

Its been about two weeks since Link got signed, Harry and Niall are his bosses and they're always around, Jai complains about how nervous I make Harry and he swears he has a thing for me, but I don't see it.

"Z I'm having Niall an Harry over for dinner tonight" Lincoln called from somewhere downstairs, the kitchen most likely.

I was in his room getting ready for a shower, I swear I spend more time at the boys house than mine. Mostly because I'm scared of my ex, none of them know about the restraining order I placed on him, especially not my brother he'd try to kill Austin if he ever found out how abusive he was. Nova is the only one that knows how truly horrific he was, it was a toxic relationship, I now know that.

Luke and Nova went out to the movies, their relationship they have going on shocked us all... Beau thought it was a prank, still does.

"Movie night?" Jai asks popping his head in the room.

"Will you have my favorite snacks?" I ask.

"Duh, of course."

"Okay, I'm in" I say walking into the bathroom. Ever since Link's gig things have been going great within our friend group, this is the last weekend of break before Nova and I head back to college and the boys are headed to Australia for a couple of weeks for their mum's birthday, Lincoln and I tag along every year but we wont be able to go this time, I'm bummed about it.

Getting out of the shower I throw on some black sweats and a red hoodie, on of the boys I'm sure. I was about to brush my hair but finding it super tangled I decided otherwise, making my way down stairs comb in one hand I spot Jai sitting on the couch.

"Hello Zara" Niall greets catching my off guard, I notice him in the kitchen along with Lincoln, Beau and Harry.

"Hi" I wave making my way towards them, greeting him and Harry I give them quick hugs and make my way towards Jai.

"Jai brush my hair please."

"Nah" he replies not taking his eyes off the television.

"Brush my hair pretty please."

"No move."

"Brush my hair please, please, ple-"

"Fine" he cut me off taking the comb from my hand, ordering me to sit on the floor in between his legs.

I catch Harry's watchful eye from the kitchen as Jai pulls on my hair, "Not so hard" I complain.

"That's what she said" Daniel comments coming into the living room, I rolled my eyes at his childish joke.

"Are you losers having dinner?" Lincoln asked from the kitchen, Jai and I both coursed a no.

"You guys have to eat" he scowled as we both laughed.

"Then why the heck did you ask us if we're going to eat, if you're going to force us anyway" Jai mumbled under his breath as I laughed, "Okay, all done" he says as I get up.

"Thanks Brooks" I say taking the comb from his hand and setting it by the stairs, making my way into the kitchen.

"Smells delicious Linky" I comment eyeing the pasta, another thing my brother is great at is cooking, he takes after our father. I can cook... but choose not to, only on special occasions.

"Linky? That's cute" Niall says chuckling, Lincoln turns bright red and brushes it off.

"When I was little I couldn't pronounce his name correctly so I improvised by calling him Linky" I explained serving myself some salad.

"You guys grew up in Australia right?" Niall asks, sparking up a conversation.

"In between Australia and L.A." Lincoln explains, "Our father owns businesses in both places."

"And how do you all know each other?" he questions looking at the guys.

"Our mothers were best friends, so we were kind of forced to be best friends as well" Beau answers a couple of snickers heard around the table.

After dinner I helped clean up and set up snacks for the movie we were about to watch, Niall and Harry insisted on helping out as well.

"That goes in the last cabinet to your right" I direct Harry, the last of the dishes were put away and the snacks were almost done.

"M&M's with popcorn?" Niall asks watching as Jai dumped the chocolates into the bowl.

"It's Zara's favorite weird snack" Jai says making a weird face and handing me the bowl.

"It's actually quiet good" I state grabbing a handful in my hand, "Want some?" I offer both Niall and Harry. Niall politely refuses but Harry take a bit.

"That's actually very good" he says, taking a bit more.

Sitting in the living room we decided to watch Venom, Daniel bullied us all into watching it once again, its by far his favorite movie at the moment.

Just as the movie ended Luke and Nova arrived, I could have sworn they were holding hands outside before walking in.

"Hey weren't you two like obsessed with One Direction?" Daniel asked a smirk on his face.

Who would have ever thought we'd be here, Nova and I used to be huge fans of the boys back in high school once we even went as far as sneaking into their concert, we got kicked out of course.

"I have no idea what you're talking about gremlin" I say picking up my bowl and cup to wash.

"Yeah they used to be obsessed, I remember now" Beau joined in as I glanced over at Niall and Harry, both very amused.

"Oh God" Daniel said laughing out loud, "I remember once they snuck into-" before he was able to finish the sentence Nova and I both pounced on him.

"Not another word gremlin" Nova threatened as I covered his mouth with my hand.

"Wait I want to hear this" Harry laughed amused at the situation.

"So when Nova and Z were fifteen you guys-" before Jai could get another word out I let go of Daniel and tried to hush Jai, failing he took both my hands in his and continued talking, "You guys were having a concert here in L.A. so they went right, but they were broke so they snuck in..."

I groan in embarrassment recalling the event, "Wait! Was this the 'Where We Are Tour'?" Niall questioned laughing.

"Uh... yes" Nova responded giving up on shushing Daniel.

"They go caught and kicked out" Daniel says before bursting into laughter again, followed by every guy in the room.

"I remember that!" Niall says recalling the event, "Our security guard made us stay in our dressing rooms for a good half an hour because they were trying to find the girls."

"I cannot believe that was you two!" Harry said falling back into a fit of laughter.

"We got kicked out before the show even started" Nova recalls signing.

"But we enjoyed the concert from the parking lot" I said trying to cover up the fact that I was mortified.

"That is so sad" Niall laughed as I tried to cover up my smile.

Niall and Harry left soon after, the night was still young but Nova and I decided to have a sleep over at my apartment. So we said our goodbyes and Lincoln ordered us an uber, with all this money that's coming in for him he sure loves being lazy, before he'd have to be the one to drive us to my place, I should honestly try saving up for a car. I had one... but the boys kind of destroyed it, never again will I ever go off roading with them in my life. I learned that the hard way.
