The doctors explained that the trauma she experienced these last few days set off a trigger in her brain, it was all too great to deal with so she shut it off, and her brain rewired to the last time she was in a hospital bed... when her brother died two years ago.

I felt eyes on me from across the room, Zara has barely said a word to me since Thursday when we all rushed to the hospital. Its now Monday and Lincoln went to go get us lunch, the boys went home to shower and Nova was asleep off on the couch on the other side of the room.

"How old are you?" her soft voice catches me by surprise, I look over at Zara and find her looking at me, her head tilted to one side.

"Twenty four" I answer offering her a small smile, she furrows her eyebrows together and nods.

"How old am I?"

"You're nineteen" I say chuckling, "You turned nineteen this past September."

"And we dated?" she asked raising her eyebrow.

Taking a breath, I sigh "Well technically we still are, we never broke up."

"Were you there for my birthday?" she asks going back to the previous subject.

"Yes I was there, Daniel pulled a prank on you, he got you a snake" I shared, she chuckled and I couldn't help but feel my heart flutter, I've missed her laugh.

"Sounds like something Daniel would do" she admits, the hospital door opening and Jai walking in.

"Jai-Jai" she gushes, the sight of her happiness upon seeing him stings, "Why'd you decide to drop by?"

"Came to see my favorite girl" he answered as I roll my eyes, typical.

"You can't be saying that in front of my boyfriend Jai" she scrolled laughing, my head shot up to meet her gaze... did she just call me her boyfriend.

"And who would that lucky fella be?" he questioned as I gave him a puzzled look.

Confused she looked from me to him, "Harry..."

"Love, you're not dating Harry" he said chuckling, I sat there shocked trying to comprehend what he was trying to get at.

"You lied to me?" she asked her attention directly on me.

"What? No" I protest stunned, "I'm not lying."

She turns her attention on Jai, "You're lying to me?"

"What no..."

"Yes you are Jai, every time you lie your eyebrows raise and you avoid eye contact..."

"Okay fine, you got me Z, I was just kidding..." he tries to play off but I see that she's not buying it.

"Please go Jai" she utters looking down at her hands.

"What- no, I wa-"

Cutting him off I stand up and walk towards him, "You heard her" I say as he stares me down.

"She's not for you to love Styles" he spits before walking out.

"He's always been a bad liar" she says from behind me, "Ever since he was little."

"I've never lied to you" I admit walking closer, taking a seat in the chair beside the bed I smile up at her. Her long hair falling off her shoulders, making her look younger than what she is.

"What did Nova get me for my birthday?" she question going back to our conversation.

" A tiny record for your charm bracelet" I say as she lifts up her wrist admiring it.

"I'm guessing the angel wings were for Cameron?" she asks taking them in her fingers looking at them. I nod my head watching her.

"Its weird because I remember seeing and talking to him yesterday... but it was actually two years ago. What happened to me that was so horrible that my mind decided to block it out completely?"

"I wish I knew princess-"

"Wait, what did you call me?"

"Sorry it was sort of my nickname for you, I used to call you princess."

Smiling she sat there staring at me, "That sounded familiar" she said as I grinned from ear to ear, I'm slowly making my way back to her...
