23- I Promise You

A week past and one night she woke up screaming, it all came back to her. Flooding in like a Goddamn tsunami, it was all too much for her to handle, doctors say she's in a traumatic state. Her mind is basically going haywire trying to make sense of what she went through... we still don't know what that scumbag put her through, she won't talk to any of us.

They discharged her earlier this week, she does nothing but stay in her room. She sleeps a lot, its mostly because of the pain medication. They had to break her arm in all over again because it began to heal in the wrong way, Lincoln ran out for a meeting he couldn't miss so I offered to stay with her, she never comes out only for water.

Nova arrived a couple minutes after Lincoln left, along with Niall she brought Z her favorite cookies, pumpkin chocolate chip.

Lost in though I almost didn't hear her come out of her room, she barely made a noise. I watch her walk out and into the kitchen, her eyes sunken in. It was her... but she was different, of course she was Harry, God knows what happened to her.

At the front door a mound knock came and Zar jumped a mile high, rushing to her side she struggle taking in breaths.

Nova went to go open the door while I tried to calm her down.

"Hey, hi Zar, you're okay, it was just the boys at the door" I explain as she struggles with her breathing. Her hands grip the counter and she managed to level her breathing, all eyes on us.

"Hey Z" Beau greets behind him Jai was holding a pizza box.

"What do you have there?" Nova asks raising an eyebrow trying to get a better look.

"Pizza.." Luke answers in a 'duh' tone.

"Are you guys idiots?!" Nova scrolled, "...that's the last place he took her! Some friends you are."

Hearing Zara's breathe hitch behind me, they're scaring her.

"Yeah Nova?? Like sarcastically said setting the pizza on the table, "...well some friend you are for letting her get kidnapped!"

In one swift movement Nova slapped him across the face, tears streaming down her face. In that moment Zara shoved past me, into her hallway her bedroom door slamming shut seconds later.

"I think you all should go" I say not in the mood for any of them.

"What the hell, you can't kick us out" Jai argued before I said anything Lincoln walked in.

"No he can't but I can, I want you all gone" he said facing them, "... she doesn't need to be dealing with all this guys. She already has too much on her plate, please if any of you care for her you'd do this for her."

Jai stares me down until Beau ushered him out the door, the boys following closely behind. Daniel looked broken, he didn't say a word the whole time there. Nova gave Lincoln a hug on her way out and apologized. He told her that it wasn't true, that it wasn't her fault Z got kidnapped. Niall trailed behind her, giving us a goodbye before shutting the door behind him.

"How is she?" He asked running a hand through his hair.

"She went into her room."

I went back into the couch and sat there, remembering the smiling girl I shared it with the first time I ever stayed over.

I didn't notice I fell asleep until I woke up, and when I did it was dark out. Lincoln asleep as well on the other couch. Signing I get up and turn on the hallways light, but before I do I catch the light streaming out of Zar's. Walking over I give her door a faint knock, after no answer I knock again and jump when she opened the door.
