21- Gone

"Harry! Harry!" Lincoln shook me awake, jumping, my eyes fluttered open, "You were practically screaming" he uttered beside me.

We sat in my living room couch, everyone there. I guess I must've dozed off, but by the looks of it so had everyone else. Nova and Niall sat close together on the loveseat, their heads resting on each others. Beau was off on the carpet along with Daniel and Jai, or Luke, I can't tell and the other twin was beside Link, on the opposite side of me.

"Zara?" Link questioned as I nodded my head sitting up.

"I remember when she was little, she'd get nightmares and she would come sleep in mine and Cam's room" he whispered, "...she made us all sleep in one bed, she would say it was because if the monster tired to get any one of us, the others would be there to protect them."

He let out a soft chuckle, thinking about the memory, "Cameron and I would hate it, but we still did it, she was our little sister you know..."

"Too bad I couldn't keep her safe this time... when the monster actually came and took her."

I was about to say something but his phone rang and he shot up to grab it, waking up everyone in the process.

"You did!?! Where? What hospital?"

I let go of the breath I was holding in, did they find her?! Is she okay?!

"Yes, I'm on my way" he says before hanging up and tuning to us all, "They found her, she's being taken to  Keck Hospital in downtown."

Rushing out into our cars Niall, Nova and Link rode in mine. I couldn't help but speed down the freeway going one twenty, no one protested arriving at the hospital I park right in front of the double doors, ignoring at the staff shouting at me that I couldn't park there. I didn't care, all I cared about was seeing Zara.

"Now hold on who is family here?" the nurse asked as we crowded the waiting room, Lincoln stepped forward as my heart dropped knowing they weren't going to let me in.

"He's her fiancé" Link spoke up pointing at me, "He has to come as well."

The nurse looked at me and frowned, "Very well then, you can come as well. But let me tell you she's not the same..."

"What do you mean?"

"Her appearance, there is swelling on the left side of her face, she is suffering from a mild concussion and a broken arm-"

"A what?!" I exclaim.

"Sir, this is all going to be very shocking so please have patience with her, right now she is frightened and traumatized, she might suffer from PTSD but only time will tell-"

"What did that bastard do to here?" I ask as we stop in front of a hospital room.

"We don't know yet... she hasn't said a word since the altercation at the pizza place, go in there slowly and tell her your names.. she'll be frightened at first but she'll simmer down once she recognizes you." 

Looking at Lincoln I found tears welling up in his eyes, signing I pat him in the back as he pushes the hospital door open. The sound of medical equipment lightly echo around the room, I braced myself and turning the corner feeling my heart shatter.

There in the hospital bed hooked up to medical equipment laid my Zara, but only it didn't look like her. Half of her face black and blue, her lip busted open and her left arm in a cast, trying to silence my cry her eyes flutter open, landing on us both.

"Lincoln?" her whisper barely audible.

"Yes, oh God Zara, are you okay honey?" he asks rushing by to her side, engulfing her in a hug. Letting go of her brother her eyes keep glancing up at me.

"Who is that man? Where's Cameron? Jai?"

"Zara, honey..." Lincoln uttered shocked.

"What's wrong?" she asked panicking, "Where are they? Are they okay?"

"What do you remember exactly?"

"Jai and I were fighting for the front seat, so Cameron ordered us both to sit in the back... we were driving... then I heard a loud screeching noise and saw these bright lights.. then everything went black. I was in a car accident."

"Z, you were in a car accident... but that happened two years ago... Cameron didn't make it."

Shaking her head tears fell freely, "That's not possible, its Cameron. What about Jai? Where's Jai, I want Jai!"

The moment those words left her mouth my world came shattering down around me, to this day I still remember her say that and it still brings me a wave of sadness.. she forgot who I was in her life...

"Okay calm down, calm down" looking back at me, I knew what Link wanted, he wanted me to go get Jai.

She has totally forgotten who I am... all of our memories, gone...
