Lillian's P.O.V.
I can't stop the tears from welling up in my eyes. I run into my room and crash onto my bed and cry my eyes out. I hear my cell phone ring and try to calm down enough to answer it.
"Hello?" I say shakily.
"Lillian?" It's Alex. "Are you okay?"
"He's gone, Alex. He left." I let out a sob.
"I know, Lil. I'm so sorry." He says quietly. "Do you need anything?" he asks.
"Will you come over?" I respond. "Please? My dad's going out tonight and I don't want to be alone."
"Of course I will. My parents are going to my brother's game tonight so I'd be home alone anyway, too. I'll be over as soon as I can okay?"
"Kay." I reply and hang up. I flop back down on my bed but something catches my eye on the nightstand. Something shiny. My blade.
I don't even know why I still have this because I've stopped. But maybe I kept it because I knew I would need it again. Just looking at it made me want to... but I can't, I promised Matthew.
But he's not here. He left me, he doesn't care about me why should I listen to him anyway? I grab my blade and go to the bathroom.
Just once, I tell myself. I take the sharp end of the blade and slide it across my wrist. It hurts worse than I remember, but it makes me feel better in a way. I need to do it again.
"Matt doesn't care," I say as I cut my wrist again. "He loves MagCon more than you," I tell myself, slicing my skin for the third time.
Suddenly, I hear the front door open. "Dad?" I yell.
"It's just me, Lillian." Alex. Oh God. I quickly grab a handful of tissues and wipe my wrist, trying to stop the bleeding. Once it looks good enough, I pull down my sleeve and run into my room, leaving the blade in the bathroom.
