Lillian's P.O.V
I can hear Alex coming up the stairs, so I quickly sit on my bed and pretend I'm on my phone. He knocks on the door and I tell him to come in. "Hey Lillian." he says softly as he comes into my room.
"Hi." I simply respond. He sits down next to me.
"So how are you holding up?" he says casually.
Terrible. I feel sick to my stomach and I don't know whether I want to bawl my eyes out or die. "Um, I'm okay I guess."
"Can I see your wrists?" he suddenly says.
"No. Why?" I question innocently.
"Come on Lillian I'm not stupid. And I'm also your best friend." I stay silent. Alex speaks again, "Fine don't show me, but I know you did it. Just tell me why though. I thought you promised Matt-"
I spring from the bed. "Well you know what? He promised he would never leave me and that he would always be there for me, right by my side, when I need him. So I guess we both broke our promises." I let everything out in one breath.
Alex's P.O.V
Lillian takes a few moments to catch her breath and calm down. "Sorry Alex." she says guiltily to me.
"No it's okay. I'm the one who should apologize. I'm sorry, I won't bring it up again." I pat the bed next to me and she sits back down, instantly hugging me. "I love you." she tells me.
I move her shoulders so she's looking at me. "Really?" I ask seriously.
She gives me a confused look. "Yes really. I thought you knew I did. You're like my best friend in the whole world." she gives me a small smile.
"Well I love you too." I tell her back, looking into her eyes. Is she gonna say something? She's just staring at me.
Now that I'm really studying her face, I realize Lillian is very pretty. She has those deep blue eyes and a natural blush to her cheeks. She doesn't smile a lot but when she does it's a beautiful smile.
