Silently, they two interns crept downstairs, afraid of making too much noise. Though, it seemed it wasn't particularly important as any possible sounds were drowned out by snoring from an unconscious man on the couch; clothes and hair a mess and reeking of whiskey.
The ginger went over and frowned, empathising with Toast's desperation to stop the pain.Colon grabbed some stuff before leaving the building, dragging a reluctant Spooker behind.
"D- don't you think w- we might be looking into this too much....?" He whimpered, "m- maybe nothing's going on and we're just causing problems...."
"We've seen evidence that somethings happening. Spooks, you could be a hero! You might save the Johnny Ghost!"
He bit his plump, pink lip, "w- well, y- yeah, b- bu-"
"Then let's find him!"
Spooker sighed and followed.
-
Things were quiet.....
The streets were cold, dull and empty....
The only sound was the heavy, dragging footsteps of combat boots on pavement.
It wasn't a surprise, of course.
Far past midnight, when sane people slept; leaving the crazed and criminal out to commit crimes.'W- well, I'm definitely not a part of that category! I'm perfectly and soundly sane!'
The cold had numbed his body, his warm breaths quickly condensing and fading.
He couldn't even feel the mechanical movements of his body, each step like a game- seen but not felt; watched but not experienced. He didn't even feel a smile creep across his lips.
.... but he saw it.
.... he watched his own face contort into a cruel grin.
What was happening?!
Was this am out of body experience!?He wanted to scream and panic but no sounds could be made, his lungs no longer his.
He could only watch as his body picked up speed, that of a predator stalking prey..... the prey being a young woman, lost and lonely.
Ghost wasn't stupid.
He knew where this was going.
He knew what was happening.
He knew who this creature that wore his face was."Hi!" A cheery yet eerie voice greeted, making the woman practically jump out of her skin- which was as white as her skeleton's fresh marrow.
"..... h- hello....?" She whimpered, chest heaving from the strange and suspicious stranger.
"Can't help but notice tha'cha lost. Wanna guide?"
"U- um.... n- no t- t- thank you......"
"Nonsense! I'll bring ya to the bus stop!"
He grasped her arm and without a second thought or a second breath, dragged her into an alley- despite her pleas and screams.A grin painted his face as he dragged her deeper and deeper into the damning dark.
He could feel Knifey's eagerness rush through him as he gripped her tighter yet.He slammed her into the wall, making her shriek panicked and pained pleads for her life. He laughed, trapping her against a bin and himself. Adrenaline pumping, she kicked the smaller man off, making him hit the opposite wall, giving her opportunity to run.
And run she did. However, her diurnal eyes did little for her in the darkened alley, not even the moon helping her. With her sight rendered useless and smell overpowered with and smell overpowered by the stench of trash, all she had was her hearing and touch.
Reaching out desperately, her hand landed on a warm fabric.
Clothes....Before her brain could process, she felt something pierce her chest, slicing her arteries. All she could do was shriek but quickly collapsed, feeling herself being dragged as she bled out.
"Hello?" Someone called.
A familiar voice.
A dangerous voice.'Maloney...'
Chucking her in the bin, he darted off, climbing up a ladder and escaping, expertly avoiding the flashlight. As he had done countless times before...
