It had been several days since Colon and Spooker had started their investigation on their boss.
Unfortunately, they hadn't gotten very far. They didn't get a chance to question Toast due to Ghost always being with him.
Only now did they realise it, but Ghost and Toast were together constantly.
The only times they were ever apart was when there were two cases that needed experts or when sleeping.
It was.... odd.Ghost sipped on his coffee as Toast read a newspaper, the both of them chatting about various topics.
Since what happened with Spooker and Ghost, Toast was rather worried.
Ghost.... wasn't the best at handling stress.
While he was always.... 'salty' (as Ghost liked to refer to it), it'd only become more extreme as his stress increased; almost like defence. This- as you'd imagine- could cause a couple issues here and there, which is why Toast would always cover for Ghost and make excuses for him.The brunette had a hard time controlling his emotions.
From excessive ebullience, to deep depression, to intense ire.
Fortunately, Toast's calm, level-headed personality kept Ghost in check, and that comforted the both of them.Tap.
Toast looked up, seeing Ghost had finished his coffee, placing it back down on the table.
"Finished, sir?" Toast asked, making small talk."Yep. I'll wash it in a bit," Ghost replied, smiling at Toast.
Toast was one of the only people Ghost ever really gave a genuine smile.
It was so different to the cocky smirks of being right and the shaky grins of anxiety. He looked genuinely happy and as though he wasn't 'salty A F'; as Colon and Spooker liked to describe it.
It was sweet, really."Don't worry about it, sir. I'll wash it later. Don't think you're mature enough to be responsible," Toast laughed.
Ghost gave him a jokingly offended gasp, before bobbing his tounge at the older male.-
Colon and Spooker were sat together, theorising what could be happening to their boss.
"Demons?" Spooker suggested."Maybe. Demons are capable of possession, and we haven't faced enough to have any information on them. Heck, I haven't even seen one."
"I have."
"What did it look like?"
"A cat plush. I thought it was cute, but Ghost told me it highly dangerous and could kill us all."
"Hmmm. I see. Well, we'll have to look into demons."
