Chapter 14. "Do You Like Him?"

2 days later

PERRIE'S POV

I was worried about Nancy after the phone call. She sounded very upset. I told Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne about my phone call with Nancy and they couldn't wait to meet up with her and understand what's going on. Now my group was done with the tour and last night we arrived home - London.
This morning, after having breakfast, I called Nancy and we agreed to meet up at our favourite cafe. I called my girls as well to let them know where and when we were going to meet Nancy today.
At 13:00 I was at the cafe. I was the first one to arrive. Then showed up Jesy, Jade and Leigh-Anne and we ordered coffee while waiting for Nancy. Not long after she arrived. We all stood up to hug her, because we haven't seen her for more than 2 months.

Nancy: Hi girls, I'm so damn happy to see you!
Jesy: Girl, we are happy too!
Jade: We missed you so much!
Leigh-Anne: And when we heard about you and Louis, we couldn't wait to meet you.
Perrie: Come, sit here. We ordered coffee for you too.

The first 2 minutes went in silence, then Nancy spoke.

Nancy: How did your tour go? I bet you're all so proud of yourselves now! And I'm proud of you girls too!
Leigh-Anne: The tour went amazing! It was the best experience for us ever!
Perrie: We're very proud that we managed to pull off this huge tour, but there's another thing we'd like to talk about.
Jesy: Talk girl! We've been waiting for this moment for 2 days!
Nancy: So many things happened... Where do I start?
Jade: From the very beginning. And don't you dare miss any details!

Nancy told us everything. Every detail. We were all so shocked.

Nancy: Louis told me not to tell the truth about out relationship to anyone expect Tina, but you girls mean the world to me and I feel like I don't have anyone else by my side after the argument with Tina...
Perrie: Don't worry, honey. We are here for you no matter what.
Jesy: Thank you for trusting us enough to tell all of this.
Jade: I hope Louis won't be mad at her for telling us.
Leigh-Anne: Calm down girls. We're pretty close with Louis, Harry, Liam, Zayn and Niall too. I'm sure there won't be a problem.
Perrie: Nancy, I would like to ask you something but promise me that you will give a honest answer.
Nancy: What do you want to ask?
Perrie: Promise first.
Nancy: Okay, I promise.
Perrie: Good. Do you like Louis as a friend or is there something more?

Nancy went pale after my question. She clearly didn't expect me to ask that question. She looked down and didn't say anything.

Jesy: God bless you, Perrie! What a great question! I'm dying to know Nancy's answer!
Nancy: Louis has been my best friend for ages...
Jade: Let me guess. You see him more than a friend but you feel weird because he's been your best friend for ages?
Nancy: Um... I don't quite know what's going on in my brain... I just help him becuse we're very close.
Leigh-Anne: Nancy, don't you understand? It's not about your brain, it's about your heart!
Nancy: I... I... Um....
Perrie: Relax Nancy. Girls, I think she is very confused right now.
Jade: Okay. Nancy, don't answer if you don't feel comfortable talking about it around us.
Nancy: No, don't get me wrong. It's not about feeling comfortable. I trust you enough to share my secrets, but I'm not sure what's it with me. I tell myself that we can't more than friends and this relationship is just an act, but there's another thing... The day of the Interview when he took me to the beach... I... I... I felt weird things... I felt butterflies in my stomach when he touched my hand... I'm scared because no boy has ever made me feel butterflies in my stomach... I'm scared... I don't want to like him more than a friend, because it's wrong... It's so wrong!
Perrie: Why do you think that it's wrong?
Nancy: Because I'm sure that he doesn't feel the same way. He just broke up with Eleanor...

One second Nancy was taking, the next secong her face was covered with tears. We gave her a group hug hoping that it would help.

Jade: Nancy, we are so sorry for making you cry...
Nancy: It's not your fault, girls... I'm crying because I'm confused and scared... Scared of falling in love with my best friend...
Perrie: No need to talk anymore, Nancy. It makes you feel worse. Let's go, we will drive you home.

LOUIS' POV

2 days passed after the chaotic interview. I called Nancy several times but she wouldn't pick up. I didn't want to annoy her all the time, but not talking with her drove me crazy. I was worried that she started to hate me because of the act I made her play. It was 16:45 when I received a phone call from Jesy - one of my close friends.

Jesy: "Hi, Louis!"
Louis: Hello, Jes! How is it going with the tour?
Jesy: "The tour was amazing, we are already back in London."
Louis: That's amazing! We have to hang out sometime! We all missed you, girls! Zayn, here is dying to see Perrie again even though he won't admit that he likes her haha.
Jesy: "Woah, so Zayn likes our Perrie, huh? I told Perrie that Zayn likes her many times but she didn't believe."
Louis: Zayn doesn't admit it in front of us but we all understand it when he looks at Perrie with those loving eyes haha.
Jesy: "Hahaha, anyway, we met Nancy today and-"
Louis: YOU MET NANCY?! HOW IS SHE?! SHE IGNORED ME FOR 2 DAYS STRAIGHT!
Jesy: "Woah, calm down, lover boy. She is doing just okay. She probably needed time to process all this drama. If my best friend would ask me to become his girlfriend just to make his ex jealous then I would probably go mad, so you have no right to blame her for avoiding you."
Louis: So she told you...
Jesy: "Don't be angry with her, please."
Louis: I'm not angry... Really... She has every right to do whatever she wants. I'm no one to stop her...
Jesy: "Don't be sad. I'm sure you can figure this out. But there's one thing I want to know. Do you see Nancy as someone more than a friend? Like... You real girlfriend?"
Louis: Why would you ask me that?
Jesy: "Just answer."
Louis: I don't know... I've got this strange feeling when I'm around her. It seems like I always had it, just a little bit, even when I was with Eleanor, but now I feel it all the time. I mean, who wouldn't feel that way around such a gorgeous girl like Nancy? But I feel guilty for feeling that way about her.
Jesy: "That's what I needed to know. Byeee! See you soon, lover boy!"
Louis: Hey! Wait! Why did you-

I couldn't finish my sentence because Jesy hung up on me.
