Chapter 25. "I Deserve All Of This"

NANCY'S POV

When we got to Zayn's and Perrie's apartment, I tried to reach Louis a million times but he never picked up any of my calls. I was anxious.

Perrie: Calm down, Nancy. Louis said that he was okay.
Nancy: I can't help worrying... All of this is so strange...
Zayn: Be patient. I will go to his house and see what's going on.
Nancy: Can I come with you? Please!
Perrie: Nancy!
Nancy: What?
Perrie: Louis told you to stay here. You will do as he said until we know what's the matter, okay?
Nancy: Please...
Zayn: Perrie is right. You dirls stay here. I will be back soon. And Nancy, call Jade and tell her that you will be moving in with us for some time. She won't need to stay at your place alone. It's better if she goes back to her house.
Nancy: Okay...

Zayn left. Every minute without having any news from Louis seemed ages to me. Perrie was doing everything to cheer me up, but it was useless. I couldn't even call Jade, Perrie had to do it instead.

I was still calling Louis non stop when one of my attempts succeeded.

Nancy: Louis! Finally!
Louis: What's wrong, babe? I already said that I'm okay.
Nancy: That's not enough. You have some explanation to do, don't you think?
Louis: I promise, I will. See you tomorrow. Love you.
Nancy: But wait! I-

And my sentence was left unfinished again. Perrie offered me to have a cup of tea. Tea always calmed me down.

After an hour Zayn came back.

Nancy: Zayn! Tell me everything!
Perrie: Nancy! Calm down, girl! He is here, he isn't running anywhere. He will tell us, but let him breathe first! Zayn, baby, would you like a cup of tea or coffee?
Zayn: No, babe, I'm fine.
Nancy: ...so...?
Zayn: I went to Louis' house. Relax, Nance. Everything is alright.
Nancy: Just that? I have so many questions! Where did he go?
Zayn: Nothing bad happened, Nancy! It was just about Liam. He had a problem and asked Louis to help him. It was urgent, that's why he left without letting you know.
Nancy: This is messed up... Is Liam okay?
Zayn: Yes. Look, Nancy, Louis will tell you everything tomorrow. There's nothing to be worried about.
Nancy: But it doesn't explain why I should stay with you and not with him...
Perrie: Sweetie, depressing so much isn't good for your health. Louis will explain everything tomorrow. Go to bed now, okay? I will show you the way to the spare bedroom.
Nancy: Okay...

PERRIE'S POV

I accompanied Nancy to the spare bedroom and gave her one of my pajamas. I stayed with her and lay with her for awhile. She quietly cried a lot, but then she fell asleep.

As soon as she fell asleep I quietly got up and went to my and Zayn's bedroom.

I opened the door and found him standing at the window, smoking.

Zayn: Did she fall asleep?
Perrie: Yes. Babe?
Zayn: Yeah?
Perrie: You can lie to everyone but not me. You lied when you said that it was about Liam, didn't you?
Zayn: I didn't want to lie, but Louis begged me not to tell Nancy the truth. Pez, he is one of my best friends, I can't let him down.
Perrie: What's the truth then?
Zayn: I can't tell you.
Perrie: Why?
Zayn: Because you're Nancy's best friend. You will tell her everything immediately.
Perrie: Does it mean that Louis did something bad? I will break his nose if he breaks Nancy's heart!
Zayn: Perrie...
Perrie: Zayn Malik! Tell me everything right now!
Zayn: No, Perrie! What Louis did isn't exactly bad, he just helped! And Perrie... Please be understanding. Louis told me not to tell anyone.
Perrie: I understand, Zayn. But you should understand me too. Nancy is my friend and I don't want her to be lied.
Zayn: I know, babe. This sh!t is none of our businesses though. Hopefully Louis will make everything clear tomorrow.
Perrie: Sorry for yelling at you, boo.
Zayn: You're forgiven baby girl. Let's sleep, I'm tired.
