House is finally back together and everyone apart from me is really sick. Not having heating for a week and a half in the winter probably didn't help. I offered to try and do the shopping by myself but that's a no go because one of the things we need at the moment is flea drops for the cats and I'm pretty sure you need ID for medicine stuff which I don't have. (And no the online supermarket doesn't have them. They've been out of stock for almost a month.) I'm going to start putting my altars back together when I've finished writing all this.

Ok so the hero's journey project.

It's no big secret that if you know me there are certain archetypes I fantasize about embodying. I'm just gonna go over the main ones. For instance Scarlet Witch's magic and absolute desire to protect her family from harm or Mon Mothma being a rich politician who is able to use her position and wealth to actually do good or Kleya Marki, Katniss Everdeen, Wonder Woman, Katie Mitchell, Raven or even Art3mis from Ready Player One. You get the idea.

Anyway the point I'm trying to make in all these stories there is some inciting incident, decision or mentor character that gives them the opportunity to become who they are supposed to be. That's what I wanted. Still want if I'm being totally honest. It's one of the reasons the mythical community was so attractive to me. They don't believe in throwing away your dreams just because normal life is so... Boring? Problematic? Apathetic? Empty? In comparison to the hopes and dreams we have when we're completely honest with what we want at least.

I spent years trying to manifest some giant opportunity that would then give me the "right" to be a hero. Becoming some powerful witch icon/influencer, winning a large sum of money so I can make sure my family is safe and then use it to help people and even more fantastical opportunities straight out of stories.

I'm probably never going to stop wanting a chance like that but I'm going to stop waiting for something to happen and start doing what I can regardless. I don't even know what I can do yet but I'm going to find out and try and make things better.
I'm going to find my own way.

Had to do the shopping after all because we ran out of cat biscuits and we'd never hear the end of that if there wasn't a replacement! (Anyone who owns a cat will understand that). Also been cleaning my room both to tidy it and get rid of any old energy. I did find the remains of a particularly nasty bit of spell work from back in 2021 that legitimately gave me a headache when I picked it up so I'm gonna be dissembling that as quickly as possible.

Here's another life lesson: If you have a bag or backpack make sure to zip it up before leaving it in your room or you may unexpectedly find a house spider in it. I also found my cache of stuff from back when I used to larp preparing for the storm. For a start I could barely lift the bag, the food was 5 years out of date. Luckily it was stuff that's meant to last but I made sure to chuck all of it. The blankets and camping gear are still in pretty good condition though so I'm going to clean them and then put them away in case there is another incident like the heating going wrong.

It's safe to say I'm not going to the christmas market today.

Everyone but me at home is still really sick and I've been doing the best I can to help out. Hopefully I'll have a real update soon.
