The attack on Wall Maria was a turning point for everyone, many people had lost their lives in the attack and even more had lost their lives after that. The event you were talking about specifically was the futile attack led by the humans to try and retake Wall Maria. Your father was actually taken to take part in that attempt and like most who had gone, his life was lost and there was no way to get it back. The loss of your father's life basically killed your mother.

For five whole months your mother had locked herself in her room to mourn the death of her husband, she only came out to get water and food. Other than that you really didn't see much of her in that time period. She had basically left you and your aunt to take care of the farm and live stalk that was in their care. You really had to grow up fast, as soon as your mother began her months-long mourning your aunt began to teach you how to run the farm and what techniques you'd need to know to be able to run the farm correctly. That was hell for you, almost just as bad as the training camp. The amount of times you'd jacked up your back and gotten hit by the revolting animals were more times than you were able to count.

As you walked through the halls of the building that the Scout Regiment currently occupied. Yeah, you were now part of the Scout Regiment, a choice that your aunt and mother were totally against. Your mother kept on reminding you that both your brother and father had lost their lives fighting the Titans and that since they didn't survive there wasn't much of a chance that you would make it through the ordeal either. Of course these words were spoken to deaf ears because nothing that any of them said was able to stop you. Yes, the two strongest men of your household had fallen to the hands of the Titans, but if that fact did anything to you, it made you want to fight the Titans even more. Though unlike most of the people who aimed for the Military Police as a choice, you went for the Scouts. You've seen what the Garrison do if there wasn't any attack and to be honest, just siting around and waiting for trouble to come to you didn't sound like a pleasing job. Why wait for trouble when you could take it out before it actually threatens the wall?

With a mindset like that, the Scouts were the obvious way to go and apparently you weren't alone in wanting to hit the Titans head on. Eren Jeager was a fellow cadet who's apparently a Titan Shifter now known as one of humanity's best chances of survival. Since the training camp or maybe even longer than that, he seemed to be aiming for the Scouts as well. The more you were around the boy, the more confident you felt in the choice you had made. You felt like you could actually make a difference in history with the scouts and to your surprise, you helped make a new milestone for mankind. You helped aid the Garrison, alongside your fellow cadets, retake Trost and for once mankind had actually succeeded in their war with the Titans. It was just kind of sad that the Scouts had to be gone as Trost was attacked. If they had been there then it was possible that there would've been less casualties then there actually were of course no one here was able to tun back time so there was no use in dwelling on something like that.

You had to admit that you were surprised in how far you've made it in life. Part of you had actually expected to die in Trost or the first expedition, but apparently life had other plans and now here you were, standing alongside people like Eren, Mikasa, and Jean in the Scouts. They were the people you were most comfortable around, along with Armin, Connie, and Sasha. They had been with you since the beginning after all and despite all of the hardships that you all had to go through, you all made it. You weren't really part of Levi Squad or anything, but just like Jean you had aided them more times than have not helped them. It was nice to work alongside those you're familiar with though, that actually goes for anything.

The only people you had to get used to was the presence of Levi and Hanji. The female was actually easy to get along with despite how different she was compared to everyone else. That difference in personality may actually be why she was so easy to get along with though, she always seemed to be so energetic when it came to anything that involved Titans. At times it seemed like her excitement was contagious, thankfully she hasn't dragged you along to participate in one of her experiments yet.
