Everyone sat on the couch across from a small table on the bus. We just finished playing a card game when the bus stopped.

"Pit stop! Anyone want to grab a snack?"
Everyone nodded in a agreement and we went into the gas station, looking around for something tasty. I had to use the bathroom so I excused myself.

I went into this sketchy-looking restroom and found an empty stall where I did my business. When I came out, I saw an older kid and a toddler that made me jump a little. I went to the sink and began washing my hands when I noticed something:
The kids were drinking from the sink with their hands and were wearing worn-down clothing.

As I turned to leave and dry off my hands, they stepped in my way.

"Who do you think you are?" They spat in unison.

"W-what?"

"Who do you think you are, on this big fancy tour with a nice family? Hm?"

"I-I dont unders-tand..."

Then more kids came in. Some from other stalls, some from the exit. A few looked older and others looked as young as five. They all looked the same, with dirty clothes and messy hair.
Then a group of the older kids spoke up in unison.

"What makes you so special? You're so lazy!"

Then a group of younger kids.

"What did you do to deserve a better life than us?"

They all came closer and closer, pining me against the back of the wall. They all started speaking at the same time.

"How could you ever be unhappy about anything with this amazing new life?!"

"I-Im sorry for what you're going through...I just...what do you want from me?!" I screamed.

"Did you work for the clothes you're wearing? Hm? Have you ever even had a JOB?!"

They were so close I could smell the mold they must've been living with. I began to cry.

"Every good thing you have you dont deserve." They said. But then, the crowd parted, and someone familiar came through.

It was Tyler.

I jumped up and hugged him, but he just pushed me to the ground.

"T-tyler?"

The group repeated the phrase as Tyler joined in, but this time, when it all went silent, he leaned into my ear, and whispered:

...punish yourself."
