Writing advice can be very helpful. Very early in the start of my interest in writing my mom got me and my sister this book called Writing Magic by Gail Carson Levine (she's the author of Ella Enchanted. A book very loved by me and my sisters). This book definitely helped me grow as a writer and it is now falling apart at the spine on the chapter about character development because my sister and I so often referred to that chapter. Though I haven't looked at that book in years, I still watch writer advice videos on YouTube (I'll make a chapter recommending helpful channels) and look at more personal writing advice books on Wattpad, and look at writing tips on Pinterest. The world is full of writing advice.
Now my advice about writing advice is to not always take writing advice to heart. Have an open mind, but don't take any writing advice as law. Writing is an art, and unless it's grammar or something structural like that, you have complete freedom over your story and you shouldn't let other people's rules dictate how your story goes. Don't be afraid to try other people's methods and ideas, and certainly don't assume that you don't need that persons writing advice, but if it doesn't work for you, that's okay.
Writing advice can be very helpful and beneficial to new writers, just don't let it stifle your creativity.
