It's been a weird day.

One minute they were on Earth, exploring a cave and then found a robotic lion that flew them all the way into space, probably galaxies away from Earth, met aliens, and heard that more are after the mechanical lions they are now bonded to.

They didn't even believe aliens existed until now! Well, besides Hunk of corse, the pilot of the Yellow Lion, he pretty much believes in everything.

"Wa-wa-wai-wait! Let me get this straight. You're a princess from another galaxy that has been asleep for over 10,000 years, had your planet destroyed by Galra, evil purple looking dudes, and your father, the king, built 5 amazingly magical lions that when put together can form a giant robot called Voltron and the leader of the Galra, Zarkon, wants Voltron so he can take over the universe?!" The yellow paladin summarized in one fell swoop.

The princess, Allura, was shocked by how he managed to understand that all at once, but nodded while her adviser, Coran, spoke with a twirl of his mustache.

"Yes, that pretty much sums it up."

"You 4 each hold a special connection to the lions, a mystical bond between machine and the elements that make up all life. Only you have the power to pilot the lions and bring peace to the universe: Lance, pilot of the Blue lion and Guardian Spirit of Water; Keith, pilot of the Red lion and Guardian Spirit of Fire; Hunk, pilot of the Yellow lion and Guardian Spirit of Land; and Shiro, pilot of the Black lion and Guardian Spirit of the Air and Sky." Allura listed, with her hands neatly folded together in front of her.

"But Princess," Shiro began, "there's only 4 paladins and you said 5 lions make up Voltron."

"Yeah, I don't know if you noticed but we're short a member." Hunk said, catching on to his leader's statement.

"I assure you, we will not be short a member any longer, because I will pilot the green lion."

Coran gasps and walks to the princess' side. Everyone noticed the worried look on his face as he went against the idea of the last relative of the royal family being a paladin. "But Princess you can't. It's too dangerous. Let me pilot the lion."

"I must Coran. Without Voltron, the universe is doomed. Besides, it is not up to us. It is for the lion to decide. I wish to follow in my fathers footsteps and continue the legacy he started all those years ago."

With a sigh, Coran finally gave in. "Yes, Princess."

Deep down he was proud of her and wished his king saw the young, strong, determined woman his daughter has become. But only destiny can decide whether the princess is fit to be a paladin of Voltron.

With a wormhole jump, the paladins and Alteans gathered at the location of the green lion.

They landed on a remote planet, peaceful and filled with miles and miles of thick forest. The animals were relatively peaceful themselves, watching in curiosity as the group traveled to the sacred hiding grounds of the metal beast.

Hunk was deep in thought as he looked around at the vegetation.

"I'm guessing the green lion has something to do with nature?"

"Oh what drove you to that? The location of the green lion? The planet that's filled with nothing but nature?" Lance said sarcastically.

"Hey, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. It's a lot to process. I mean all the lions seem to have been found in their own element, right? So doesn't that mean whoever gets chosen for the green lion is the guardian of what? Plants?"
