The paladins all look around in astonishment. The hallway had opened up into a large dome shaped room, the walls covered in murals. The picture of a green crystal and a large blue mystical being holding it, caught Pidge's eye.
"Hey, that must be the Gem of Eternal life!" She pointed.
"If that's the gem then the one holding it must be the celestial being Coran told us about." Shiro added.
"Then these paintings must tell the story about the gem's creation, maybe it can lead us to where it could have went." Keith said.
Everyone split up around the room to look for clues.
Nothing came out of the norm until a glow illuminated the room. Everyone closed there eyes from the blinding light, and feared whatever was making it could have been trouble.
"Who dares enter such sacred grounds?!" The apparition spoke.
Pidge looked at the woman in curiosity. She had a weird feeling as if she knew this creature, that's when it hit her. An old friend of the green lion's had wings just like that.
"L-Lefraya?" Pidge asked in shock.
The fairy alien gasps, now having a good look at her face. "Katie.. how are you- you got my message?"
"Yes. We came here to help get the gem back." Pidge noticed something was off about the fairy. She was, blinking? Lefraya looked weak and tired, the eyes Pidge saw glisten when the first met were now dull and grey.
"It's affecting you too. You're fading.."
Lefraya nods. "Yes. My quintessence may no longer connect to the Green Lion, however it connects to all other forms of life.."
"And as life dies.."
"So do we."
"But that's not going to happen," Shiro said, stepping to Pidge's side, not wanting to get too deep on the subject. He will not have his little sister talk about her death, she had so much to live for. "We're going to save both of you, the green lion's power and the life on this planet. Lefraya, do you have an idea on who took the gem?"
"Or maybe where it could have gone?" Keith added on.
"I was present during the gem's capture. A hooded woman came in and took it, completely unaffected by the temple's counter measures." Lefraya nodded.
"Hooded woman? You don't know what she looked like?" Shiro asked with a raise in his brow.
"No. I did not get a good observation of her face. However I did notice she had white hair, and red marks coming down her cheeks."
The paladins gasp, all speaking in frightful unison. "Haggar."
"Haggar?" Lefraya questioned, not recognizing the name.
"She's Zarkon's witch. Allura and Coran told us about her." Pidge answered.
"And I saw her a few times during my time in Zarkon's prison. She's extremely powerful." Shiro added.
"But it doesn't matter. We need to act fast. We only have 40 hours left until life on this planet dies and we loose Pidge. Haggar could be anywhere." Keith pointed out.
"And she'll be with Zarkon. This battle won't be easy." Lance added.
"I was able to make a program that can track Galra ships. If we integrate it into the castles system, we can pin point it to Zarkon home base. That's where Haggar might be." Pidge said.
"Wa-wait. Go straight to Zarkons base? Where there are thousands of Galra soldiers, an evil witch and Zarkon himself! It's a suicide mission, I am not on board with this new direction guys." Hunk stated, clearly worried about the outcome of the mission.
