Lance never thought he was going to see his home again.

Once the blue lion flew them onto Arus, he thought that was it, hecho*, finito*, over, no more Earth.

But here they are, heading home right now, and his worries can end, or so he thought.

Lance sat in his designated chair on the bridge of the castle ship. He questioned himself further about the future and even tried predicting it. Once they find the green paladin, they would have to go back up into space to fight. He would be galaxies away from his home once again.

They didn't sign up for this, the job was just handed over to them.

Maybe when they get to the planet and search, he can sneak to talk to his family. Just so they don't go crazy and wonder about where he is or if he's even alive. Because he is, he'll be alive protecting them from an alien race in a large robot made of lions.

Sounds a lot crazier than it is now that he thinks about it.

"Everyone get ready. We're approaching Earth's atmosphere." Coran informed, interrupting Lance's train of thought.

They land the castle ship in the desert, close to Keith's home. There, it was far from prying eyes and far enough from town, in case they get into an unwanted battle with the Galra, should they ever return.

"Alright, we go in, look around and see if anyone reacts to the gem Lefraya gave us and get out." Shiro ordered. "We don't want to attract unwanted attention, so Princess, Coran, you 2 stay on the ship. Alert us if anything happens."

The Alteans nod and the others exit the ship to get started on their search.

It's been hours of looking and so far nothing. Nada, zip, zero!

The sun has just about disappeared over the horizon, making the sky illuminate in a starry twilight.

To their luck, no one has approached Shiro, having not recognizing him from the Kerberos mission, not that he wanted the attention of corse. The mission was more important and he didn't feel like becoming a lab rat like he did when he first crashed onto the human operative planet. Not to mention if someone from the Garrison saw them, there was sure to be trouble.

They had to find the green paladin and defeat Zarkon before exposing the alien technology they controlled. They knew the Garrison should be able to help, but once the paladins are better trained and prepared, then they can figure out their next step.

"Guys, we've been searching for hours. Can't we take a break, I'm hungry." Hunk complained.

Keith sighed in aggravation. "We can't stop now. The longer we wait -Zarkon might find us here. We need to find, whoever it is we're looking for and form Voltron."

"Keith's right." Shiro agreed, stopping and turning to his team. "The sooner we find the rightful green paladin the better. Let's keep moving."

Just as he turned to start walking again, he saw someone familiar.

A little girl he hasn't seen in a long time. A girl who bared brown hair and chestnut eyes, a girl who is the younger sibling to a close friend, with the brains of the man he looked up to, a girl he promised her brother to look after if he ever escaped the Galra prison and failed miserably.

"Katie?" Shiro mumbled curiously as he jogged towards her.

"Who?" Lance asked and followed.

Shiro ignored him and drew closer to the girl. But he stopped, seeing that someone was with her, quickly hiding behind the edge of a near by building.

Iverson.

The man that strapped him to the table, expelled Keith, yelled at Lance and Hunk, and worse of all lied about the death of the crew members on Kerberos.

"I could charge you with treason for breaking in here Ms. Holt. You are never to return to the Garrison again!"

"You can't hide the truth from me forever! I'll keep searching, I'll never stop!"

The others watched in shock on how a middle schooler was going up against Iverson. Lance thought he'd never see the day someone would stand up to him.

"Woah, this girl's got guts!" Lance said with an impressed smile.

"Quiet laser-for-brains! They'll hear us." Keith whisper yelled. Lance groaned, but reluctantly obeyed, listening in on the conversation.

"The feeds you found were classified. Your brother and father are dead! You better move on or there's going to be hell to pay. Don't let me catch you in this derestriction again. I'm sure they'd be very disappointed if they saw what you were doing right now."

She couldn't hold it in anymore. She ran full force toward the general, her fist fueled with hatred and anger. But before she could punch the man, he closed the door. The metal between her knuckles made a loud banging sound, the vibrations of the impact ran up her whole arm.

"Ah!" Katie dropped to her knees as she cradled her hand, tears threatening to fall not just from the pain but from the lies Iverson had the audacity to speak. "They're not dead. I just know it. And I'm gonna find them.."

"Katie?" Shiro said, realizing the mistake he made when he startled the girl so badly she backed up against the door, hitting her head hard, eyes widen in shock.

"It's okay, it's okay. It's just me." He tried calming her and knelt to her level.

"Shiro?" She asked in disbelief. Katie blinked her eyes, wondering if the man in front of her was even real, or if she finally fell into madness.

The brunette engulfed him in a tight hug. Shiro was shocked at first but quickly recovered, hugging her back. He had a soft smile on his face as he held her. He missed her so much.

"It's so good to see you Katie." He place his hands on the girl's shoulders to get a better look at her. "You've grown since I last saw you. Heh, you look just like your brother."

"Matt!" She gasps. "He was with you on the mission! Where is he? Is he alive? What about Dad? How did you get back to Earth? What really happened while you were in space?"

"Woah, woah, slow down. I'll explain everything later. But for now let's-" Shiro felt over whelmed when he was bombarded with so many questions. Just as he was about to make a suggestion, the device, given to him by the fairy like alien, started glowing in his pocket.

At the same time Katie started glowing as well. A highlighted green mark in the shape of 3 leaves appeared on the inside of her left wrist.

"What's going on?" She asked in shock as she looked at the mark that suddenly appeared on her pale skin.

Shiro took out the device and looked at his best friend's sister.

"It's you.. You're the person we've been looking for." Keith said.

Katie had a confused look on her face. Just more questions to pile onto the ones she already had.

"Come with us and I'll explain everything, I promise."

The 14 year old agreed hesitantly. Deep down she hoped whatever this mark was, will help find out where her family is.
