The paladins of Voltron ate and talked for the rest of the evening. Allura was right about needed some time with each other. They all got to know each other better, and even Lance and Keith stopped bickering after a while. I guess they just needed to sit down and just be humans for a change. To forget about being defenders of the universe and just be people.

The team made jokes, laughed and got along better than expected. They were recalling coming together as a group, and all the fun things they wanted to explore while in space. Each giving bits of information about each other and their lives before Voltron.

Shiro decided to stand watch during the night. He didn't want to risk any chances of something ambushing his team, someone always had to stay sharp. So they worked out a patrol system where the paladins rotate every hour, that way everyone gets equal sleep and will be rested enough to stand guard during their shift.

When the sun rose the next morning, the paladins awoke to a bright blue sky and the smell of food cooking over an open fire.

Lance was especially pleased finding Hunk cooking eggs and some meat on a make shift stove-like set up over the fire, created from small twigs and marinated leaves.

"Mmm, that smells good Hunk!" He complimented as he took a seat next to his teammate.

"Why thank you, Lance. Oh and hey, check this out! I found an herbal manual in the storage compartment of the ship. It tells us about all the plants in the area."

"Why would we need that?"

"Well, it would be helpful to know if there are any poisonous plants out here." Keith replied as if it was an obvious conclusion.

"That's great Hunk. It could prove useful since we know little about this planet." Shiro added.

Keith looked over as saw Pidge still sleeping. She seemed a little restless during the night, having gotten up multiple times and staid up during her shift.

"Should I wake her up?"

The head of Voltron turned to see for himself where Keith was staring. He knew of her whereabouts last night and was a bit calmed by the fact she was finally resting. "No, let her sleep. After last night, she could use it. We all need to be at 100 percent if we're going to survive out here."

"I just hope she's not coming down with something. Didn't she seem a bit off last night?"

Now that he thinks about it, Pidge was a little out of character. The normal bright girl that's filled with laughter, became quiet and rarely said a word. Granted she grew up being a private person and liked having personal space, but he hoped she would still indulge in conversation from time to time. Especially if it was about technology related stuff, which Hunk talked about a lot.

"I guess she was kind of out of it. But let her get her rest, we can see how she is when she wakes up."

Lance and Keith continued their water run throughout the morning.

Based on the sun's trajectory, it was just a little after noon. Hunk went out to find lunch while Shiro stood watch over camp.

Unfortunately, Pidge did wind up catching a small fever. The wound on her arm had gotten infected and started causing Lance great concern. The bleeding stopped, but 20 percent of her bicep was red and inflamed. That, combined with unavoidable allergies she suffers from, weakened her immune system and is now battling to keep her healthy.

He patched up the wound himself. He did what he could to prevent infection, and thought he did a decent job given the circumstances, but it wasn't enough.
