Lance was in a state of panic. He ran through the empty halls at light speed, jumping over the trail of bodies Shiro left behind.

He was scared to see what the scenery was. Pidge was the smallest of all of them, she's only 14! So to see her be crushed by these giant beams- it won't be pretty.

When Lance arrived, his gut was right. He gasps at the sight of Pidge's small form being held down by such a massive force, and Shiro doing what he could to help her.

He took one step forward and heard a little splash, thats when he noticed the running water.

His panic increasing, he rush over to his leader and held the beam steady so he has a more cleaner cut.

"You didn't tell me the base was collapsing! We could drown here and Keith and Hunk are fighting a fleet of Galra on there own!"

Shiro didn't bother to make any eye contact with the Blue paladin, his priority literally in the palm of his hand. He had to stay focused. "I know your scared Lance but panicking won't help anyone. I almost got the beam cut, I need to you to find a way to slow down the water flow. Have you awakened your elemental powers yet?"

"No. Allura said the original Blue paladin got his when he was on the verge of death. And I'm not on the verge of death, Pidge will be if we don't get out of here!"

"Lance!" The shout silenced the Cuban boy, looking at Shiro in fear.

"I understand you're afraid, but I know you can do this. The Blue Lion chose you for a reason, just focus and channel your energy. The more you panic and wait, the more water get's in and we will all drown! Just.. clear your mind. Let all your worries go."

Lance could hear his pulse in his ears, the flow of blood moving so fast some of Shiro's words came out muffled. He took one look over at Pidge and saw the paleness in her face, a streak of blood flowing down from her forehead.

He took a deep breath in and slowly let it out, hearing nothing but the rushing water. It sounded like a waterfall, it reminded him of home. The sound of the rushing water was pleasant to his ears. He could hear his family playing in the lake, swimming, splashing, jumping and enjoying the time they have together.

It was one of Lance's favorite memories. A smile was brought to his face, his lion rumbling in the back of his head as his mark started to faintly glow under his armor.

A glow of blue hinted his eyes when he opened them. Lance twisted his hand and forced the running water back where in belongs, firmly holding his stance to keep it at bay.

Once he realized what he did, he smiled with glee. "I-I did it! I just unlocked my elemental power! Ah ha! Just wait till Keith sees this when I drench him later!

"Nice job Lance!" Shiro encouraged.

He felt his hand give way when he reached the end of the beam. He reacted immediately, pulling Pidge from the wreckage and and picked her up. He heard a soft groan coming from her. "I know, I'm sorry. But don't worry, we're going to get you help. You'll be okay Pidge.. I promise.."

Lance lowered his defense and started running with Shiro. The water immediately pouring back in, twice as much, now that he wasn't there to hold it.

Once they reached the pick up location, Lance took his helmet off and replaced Pidge's broken one with his, turning on the visor.

Shiro looked at him with a worried and confused expression. "Don't worry, I can hold my breath long enough to reach Blue. Now hurry!"

Shiro didn't comment, he knew Lance was a good swimmer and trusted that he knew what he was doing.
