////Chapter 32////

"W-Wait!" Mina packed her bag, chasing after the CEO who had quickly walked off. Chaeyoung was long gone and Yeri even sighed as if she saw this coming. "M-Miss!"

"Mina, I apologize for having to leave so early. I-I already paid for the food so you don't need to worry. Happy New Years." Seo-yeon smiled apologetically before throwing her bag into the black car, quickly waving goodbye and gesturing her driver to leave.

Mina sighed, her lips pursing into a frown. She saw herself figuring it out, specially when Seo-Yeon complimented Chaeyoung in growing older. Though, she never really thought it was her mother considering Chaeyoung had said that Seo-Yeon was just some family friend. So she was lying to me all along.

"Well, isn't this a start to a new year." A voice chuckled. Mina glanced behind her and saw Yeri with her arms crossed. She looked calm, something that wasn't quite right with what just happened. Mina was thinking that she would chase after the cub, though that didn't happen.

"Y-You look like you were expecting this." Mina replied.

Yeri nodded, slowly, "I was. When I saw you and Seo-Yeon enter through that door, I knew it was going to happen." She had her apron on, her hair tied up. Yeri was even holding Chaeyoung's folded

"So you knew..." Mina trailed off as she saw Yeri nodding, already knowing what her question was. The latter sighed, tucking the folded apron under her arm.

"Chaeyoung must've lied to you about her family then." Yeri looked up, "Let me guess, she told you that Seo-Yeon was a family friend and suddenly she got into a disagreement with her family? Which then turned into Chaeyoung saying she just has a bad impression on her?"

Mina was more than surprised, she shocked that Yeri got the whole story word by word. Like she's heard about it several times which Mina assumes, Yeri has. The penguin hesitantly nodded, shocked by the incredible detail, "Y-Yeah. How did you-?"

"Years and years of being friends with Chaeyoung." Yeri winked, though her split second grin transitioned to a frown, "That was the same lie she told every time someone asks about Seo-Yeon. To be honest with you, Mina? You're the only person I know who really questioned about it. Not even Nayeon and Jeongyeon did that." Yeri sighed.

Mina frowned, seems like Chaeyoung has really disliked the topic of her mother. She looked away, her sense of time lost in the situation that occurred just a few minutes ago. "Anyways-" Yeri spoke up, "-Why don't you go home? It's almost 12 and I think you need to celebrate New Years with your family. I'll give you take out."

Mina smiled, thanking the younger girl for being so helpful and composed this entire time. Her on the other hand, Mina was worried. About Chaeyoung, especially. The cub had suddenly stormed off, her eyes filled with fury. The same ones she saw during Halloween. Though this one was far more intense.

"Here." Yeri smiled, passing Mina a small bag filled with two containers, each one a different dish.

"Thanks." Mina chuckled, almost forgetting that Seo-Yeon had paid for their dinner. She made a mental note to herself, making sure that she'll pay for it as soon as she sees the CEO. "Oh and Yeri."

"Hm?"

"Sh-Should I call Chaeyoung?" Mina fiddled with the plastic bag.

Yeri sighed, shaking her head ever so slightly, "I think it's best we leave her alone right now. She needs the space."
